I didn’t plan to include JC but he wanted to be loved so he got a gif too. I also don’t know why i colored him so red... but I guess I wanted that chair to pop and ignored his skin. Sorry JC, this is what you get for butting into WWX’s gif set.

Also, I was talking about using JC expressions as Change to my husband and he called me out on focusing on sad JC things. oops.

[1] I chose to translate  塵  which means dust as humanity because  染塵  means to be touched by human affairs or moral coils. In this case, I was alluding to romantic feelings but it doesn’t have to be romantic.

Tonight in GIF Making -- Ep2. First Contact in Show 

mdzs characters' reaction when they step on a lego?

Wwx: howls in pain (which somehow summons wen ning and lwj)

Lwj: mn. And keeps moving

Jyl: cleans up the Legos and never steps on them. She's perfect that way.

Jc: grits teeth. Zidian melts the offending plastic

Nhs: weeps dramatic tears and wheedles a new fan/brush from nmj

Nmj: Lego is crushed. He doesn't notice.

Lxc: rears back and holds back tears. Pick up Lego. Deposits in proper bin

Jgy: Lego hurt jgy. Lego must suffer a thousand pains by sandpaper!

Wn: oh no! I hope the Lego is ok!

Wq: whose Lego is this? And flashes needles

Mianmian: urgh. Men. (And she's right. Yao probably left them there. She deserves better)

JZXuan (pre ep28): ouch. I shouldn't be forced to clean up my mess

JZXuan (post ep 28): ouch. I'm glad it's me and not Yanli who stepped on this (cleans up the Legos)

Xxc: sighs and offers it to xue yang, thinking it's super sharp candy

SL: swears he'll never play with Legos again but then takes it back because he realized it was in a fit of rage

A-Qing: cries and blames xue yang for picking on a blind girl

Xy: destroys all Legos in house

Lsz: cleans up after himself so also doesn't step on legos (like yanli, lsz is perfect)

Ljy: akfjjaksjhshzgga!!! Hops on one foot and makes a ruckus (probably breaks something in the process. Is then made to copy lines)

Jin ling: fairy! Get that Lego! (Fairy either ignores him for being too dramatic or gets the Lego and deposits it on his hand)

Oyzz: oh a Lego. If I don't cry will I seem more manly? Can I make something romantic with this for a girl?

Lqr: qi deviates (he cannot believe Cloud Recesses is overrun by children's toys)

But lbr, Wen chao doesn't have the intelligence to appreciate legos. Same goes for Wang lingjiao.

Tonight in GIF Making -- Jiang Sect Sword Design  One of These is Unlike the Others

So I’m going through eps 1 and 2 to make some gifs tonight and I noticed something about the Jiang Sect Swords. 

I’ve already talked about JFM’s swords in another post. Most of us are pretty aware of what Sandu looks like. And look! I gifed JYL’s sword! :) 

You know what they all have in common? They all have a very distinct pommel. In fact, that seems to be THE DESIGN for Jiang Sect swords. Look at those five disciples. Their SWORDS ALL HAVE THAT BASE DESIGN. 

So why is Suibian different? 

I wonder if YZY had something to do with it. Some influence of the design to really reject WWX? 

I don’t really know but it just makes him feel different and it makes me really sad. It’s like even thought he’s the head disciple and he’s almost siblings with JYL and JC, it’s not actually enough for him to be a Jiang. His sword can’t even have the same design. That alone makes him feel other and separate and different. URGH. I’m going to go cry in a corner now. 

Tonight in GIF Making: Ep 17 and 24 WWX and JLY Emotional Comfort Parallels

(Really this was a set I noticed three weeks ago while making the “your bones” set for @merelhyn but )

In the first column, she’s also upset so it’s just super super sad all around. JC is not ok. They’re both worried. (you can actually see JC in the bkgd)

In the second set, things are less awful so they’re happier. He’s hurting and she’s hurting but JC is ok and they’re home. They’re back at Lotus Pier. The location makes everything better. They can tease and banter and WWX can do the baby brother thing and sajiao. I love cute happy WWX in JYL’s lap so much.

I also love how THESE are what she does for him when he’s upset. She’ll caress his face to initiate the touch. She’ll grab his hands and comfort him. And then she’ll let him put his head on her lap. Do you wonder about this ever started? Maybe this is how she handled him/reached out to him when he’s just been whipped by YZY or been chased by a dog. Touch gently and let him get close. Touch some more and reassure him. Then let him in and comfort him full on.

There’s something so warm and sweet about this sequence. I’m really glad the CQL team made a point to have this be their comfort ritual.
