For @fytheuntamed ‘s Untamed Fall Fest. Day 30: Trick or Treat

So this prompt gave me some trouble. Did I want to do candy with Xue Yang? Did I want to do WWX being a gremlin? Nope. I picked the creepiest thing I could for for trick or treat. 

I’m not sorry.  For the record, I don’t like this scene. I don’t like watching it. It gives me the creeps… which means it’s perfect for Halloween!

Trick or treat is such an innocuous thing kids say at Halloween! But I also associate it with horror stories I read as a child. So this is a macabre and horror interpretation of it. 

Is this a treat for JGS? Sure. By JGY’s words, we can pretend it is. Both trick and treat. Trick or treat? JGY bows, straightens his hat, and says: I will endeavor to satisfy both. 

And I know I’ve said this in a my JGY meta post but translation note: you can translate JGY’s line as your favorite women or your favorite – women. I chose to translate it as the latter due to the context.

Jin Guangyao's Violation of 忠孝仁义

So I had written about WWX and his strong sense of 忠孝仁义 last week. While I was writing it, I kept on thinking about JGY and how he managed to violate all of these virtues. I wanted to go into this characterization of him because I find it so interesting how opposite he is to WWX in the decisions he made. (Warning: i’m not nice to JGY here so if you don’t want him dragged, don’t read?)
