The use of the cloud pattern means lightly floating in the wind, invoking an impression of placing a heavy emphasis on upholding the proper and traditional values of the cultivating world
The Set Design of Cloud Recesses
The residence of the Gusu Lan family, Cloud Recesses, is designed to appear half hidden in the mist and clouds, with pine trees, bamboo forests, and waterfalls in the surrounding landscape. These paint the picture of pine trees lying beneath flying waterfalls and blue-green smoke reaching for the moon, the epitome of a Chinese garden in the Jiangsu region.
The Gusu Lan’s family motto is to be proper and upright, which overall takes inspiration from the culture of the scholar-bureaucrat caste during the Wei-Jin Period (c. 265-420). Their main colour is pale blue. Their utensils and wares tend to be blue-green or green in colour and regularly shaped, chiefly Ru ware [1] and Ding ware [2]. The Lans also place a heavy emphasis on ancient texts, calligraphy, and tea ceremonies, reflecting the Lan clan’s elegance and fairness.
A well known setting in the show, the Jingshi was originally the residence of Lan Wangji’s mother, and it later became his residence. The Jingshi is built within the bamboo forests of a high mountain, creating an elegant and peaceful atmosphere that allows one to escape from the world amongst the deep clouds. Pine trees and bamboo are often used to represent purity, aloofness, and pride; with pine trees by the side of this constructed residence, and with the bamboos as friends [3], further emphasising and making the residence owner’s elegance stand out.

The Lan family’s clothes are designed to be refined and sophisticated. By using white and deep blue-green as the base colours, their clothes strongly emphasise cleanliness and elegance. Their collars give a stricter and more tightly bound feeling, reflecting self-restraint and regulation.

I never noticed how the resentment lines fade from her face. You can see it in the first gif how it recedes as she shakes her head and the music stops. It blurs and continues to fade in teh second gif. I really like the way that effect was done. ^_^

There is a common Chinese saying: thirty six stratagems, running is the best. (三十六计，走为上计). I always thought it was a joke because the line basically says: "RUNAWAY!!!" And so I never bothered to to look it up until my friend casually referenced a different stratagem in conversation... And I was like what?! Wait!!! This is a thing? This isn't Art of War? (It didn't sound like Art of War but I haven't read all of art if war, tbh)
So yeah. LWJ is actually giving solid advice AND potentially referencing a military strategy text AND sounding super cheeky. All one one character. He fully expects WWX to catch all of his intent and meaning. How is that for efficient communication?

BUT TODAY IS THE FATEFUL DAY,,,, I made pancakes with jingyeast’s discard and they were so tasty!!! now it’s bread time!!!!!! 🥺🥺🥺 I haven’t baked bread since literally kindergarten guys I’m so excited
I’m. A little concerned about how late it is. If he rises in 3 hours then like,,,,, I will be able to bake tonight but I’m also like fuck,,,, I’m so tired I went to bed at like 4am last night I’m only just now starting to like. Have brain. HHHHH.
