“ my planet got destroyed by a giant piece of mixed greens salad “ wait what
same energy
HERE is a comic i made at 4 am for @gayharrykim for the star trek pride exchange organized by @lieutenant-commander!! the prompt was worf/riker + music
Hot take: Riker is a very good character regardless of what your motives for watching Trek are
- A genuinely good and kind dude. Just wants his friends to be happy and safe. Is not actually misogynistic like people like to portray him
- Is like, a good military leader or whatever, if that’s what you’re into
- A well written character who is a good leader and has good development (as much as tng’s largely episodic nature allows) helping him find a good balance between work and spending time with loved ones
- Is very fun to make fun of
- He plays the fucking trombone and sits weird. I love him
Yeah, @bi-oticcharge everyone always says that, so when I rewatched tng, I paid attention to it, and he actually doesn’t? Deanna has relationships with other people in
- Haven
- Second Chances
- Masterpiece Society
- Loud as a Whisper
- The Price
- Man of the People
- The 2 where she’s with Worf
And out of those, Will has a problem with: Man of the People (where Deanna is being manipulated by space magic to become a different person and nearly die, so I’d say he has just cause for being against that), Secone Chances (you can’t deny it would be weird to have your ex date your clone, but even then, Will comes around and tells her that he just wants her to be happy, and that he has no problem with the relationship if it makes her happy), Haven (where I don’t think he is against the relationship as much as 1. It’s his first time seeing Deanna in a new relationship, of course he’s gonna feel a way about it, and 2. Deanna doesn’t seem to really want the relationship. His primary concern is that she’s happy), and the ones with Worf are actually either a hallucination or an alternate timeline and I don’t think we should count things that didn’t actually happen against him. He doesn’t like the guy in The Price, but that’s just cause the guy’s a smarmy asshole, they specifically state it doesn’t have anything thing to do with Deanna’s relationship.
Like yeah, I definitely wish he was written differently in Haven and All Good Things, but even as it stands, I don’t think it’s fair to say he tried to sabotage all of her relationships
… you forgot the best one tho….
Reminder: June 16th is Captain Picard Day.
