a pun a day keeps the world astray

@wario-speedwagon / wario-speedwagon.tumblr.com

Mostly just reblog everything I like, and boy are my interests mismatched. DSAF is my most prominent brainrot so feel free to block "Dayshift at Freddy's" or any other fandom tags. I'm just chilling over here :). Aromantic, asexual. Any pronouns welcomed. :)

Oh, hey!! Hello!! My tumblr symbiote! :D

How u doin? Are you drinking enough water? (I say very hypocritically) Are you Watching your Yokais? How's your Dayshift at Freddy's been? Have you Dialed the Town lately? I hope you haven't been Tricked by any Ghosts lately!

....I mean- er *ahem* *casually and very coolly sprays cologne into mouth*

Hey, what's up?

you ever stop and think about how in both the True and Evil "canon" timelines of dsaf, Jack has always been kind of like some sort of puppet for someone else's goals? How it's debatable how much of Jack's actions are truly free will, consensual and non-coerced by Henry or even Fredbear? How, ironically, the "noncanon" neutral and joke endings could debatably be the most authentic iterations of a free, uncontrolled Jack driven only by self-interest or sheer impulse?

How authentic is Jack's relationship with Dave at any given point or route? Do you think Jack regrets the pact he made with Fredbear for almost eternal, undead life? What really are the implications of him not having a soul? Who is Jack's "true" self, Old Sport or Blackjack? Or can neither of them claim that "status" anymore since his death?

There are a million and one ways to interpret who Jack is, and it's hard to be truly "right" or truly "wrong." Jack is so many different people in the games, yet also the same. But we know all of these "Jacks" are canon Jacks in the sense that they are all different, parallel realities in-between which the Flipside resides, all of which Blackjack has observed to find the "right" Jack for his cause, given he appears in all of them randomly. Is the "right" Jack truly the most "true" Jack just because he fulfilled Fredbear's promise in the "True" Ending?

my mind is full of thoughts

I wasn’t expecting to have the gosh-darn Dungeons and Dragons movie make me feel things, but here we are.

Spoilers :readmore:

I'm still reeling over how the badass woman and the failguy were mom and dad but not at all shipped! I'm glad they actually stuck to their word when they said they were like brother and sister

[ID: a picture of an cootie catcher, an origami fortune telling game, open to show the number choices on the inside. Visible on the outside are the colours yellow and green as choices. End ID.]

someone remind me what the bite of 87 was in dsaf 2. that was BB killing mike jr right?

It depends on the route.

In the True/Perfect Ending, it was Fredbear defeating Davetrap.

In the Almost Happy Ending where Fredbear doesn't show up or fails to defeat Davetrap, it is Davetrap killing Peter

In An Ending/Radical Endings where you choose BB, it's BB biting down on Mike Jr.

In the Fairly Evil ending where you choose Foxy, it's- actually I don't remember if Nightmare Faxy actually bit down on Peter or Mike Jr or just drove Peter insane so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In the Forgotten Ending where Dave uses that Nightmare Foxy against you, well, yeah, Jack's the victim of the Bite instead

in the Marionn-ending, it was probably Puppet biting Jack to death

In the Golden Bear Scrotum Ending, it was probably Kellen Goff biting down on Jack's brain to brain death

In the Sorta Happy Ending, it was probably Toy Freddo eating Dave's head off

In the Confusing Ending, it was probably that doggo that bit Jack and gave him rabies?

...

Why do I know all this.

Just watched Puss in Boots 1 to see how it compared to The Last Wish and it was... average, pretty alright, deserving of a positively connotated shrug. Was pretty funny, character development feels a bit off/rushed, but overall a decent experience.

I'd love some input from anyone reading this!!

You're in the middle of playing a game, watching a show, reading something, or maybe just finishing it up. You're hit by the realization that you're currently in the middle of something special. Something that ticks all of the boxes for top-tier content that you have. Something that makes you think. Something that makes you feel. Something that you won't ever be able to experience for the first time again. Something that will become a standard you hold everything else to. Something you won't ever forget.

What is that something for you? What do you call that feeling? Gush about it! Give me that wordsalad. Go feral homie, I wanna know!

Aight, I'mma word vomit about all the games that blew my little mind away, here we go! (spoiler free)

Mother 3 Probably the first game to make me cry and tell me such a beautiful story, and that challenged what a story could mean for me since I experienced it at like age 10-11. Obviously, that meant I watched Chuggaaconroy's LP of it, but Mother 3's story is seriously one of the most important stories to me, and probably helped me grow up in ways invisible to me. God bless this beautiful game.

Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) The first game to show me how truly astonishing a game can be, and I played it in a really formative time in my life when I was just starting to be come a real person (age 13-14). The sheer scale of the game was life-changing for me, the music and visuals astonished me even on the Wii version, and the point from Prison Island onward, to Mechonis, to the end of the game, was utterly revolutionary to me, showing me the majestic potential of storytelling in video games. I hadn't played JRPGs or VNs at that point yet so the plot felt so new and mind-opening.

Ghost Trick A heartwarming, moody, mysterious paranormal detective game on the DS that oozes charm and style, but the further you go in, oh man, lets just say that the final act of the game where all the questions are answered and everything makes mindblowing sense, agh, such a satisfying well-told story!

9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors Shortly after Ghost Trick, I experienced 999, and god, the off, tense vibes, the likably hateable characters, my first experiences with an Uchikoshi story with those Uchikoshi plot-twists, 999 is such a special story to me. I also adore the sequel Virtue's Last Reward and even Zero Time Dilemma a lot, but 999 is the one that captures my heart the most, the most satisfying story on its own.

AI: The Somnium Files Probably the most recent game to capture my heart for its characters and good ol' Uchikoshi mystery and plot twists. Where Zero Escape lacked in the charm/character department, this game absolutely made up for it while maintaining the same storytelling prowess. Dear god I love this game and I can't wait to play its sequel hopefully soon!

Other Super Important Honorable Mentions

Danganronpa series (first experience with a death game genre when it was still new and not done to death. The mystery really captivated me despite the series' flaws)

Ace Attorney series, especially the Takumi ones (lovely characters, lovely stories, particularly love AAI:2 and DGS, can't wait to play DGS2 soon hopefully!)

Dayshift at Freddy's (my current beloved, for its characters primarily with themes of family that make my heart go warm and hurty)

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (SUCH a satisfying game to play through and try to puzzle out. While the overall plot is just "great" to me, the JOURNEY to getting there is SO captivating man, I just love me a good, addictive mystery leading to exciting plot twists, and this game is absolutely loaded with them!)
