The Borderlands movie is already having a few non-Borderlands blogs talk about the games...

As a Borderlands fan I plead that y'all do not form your opinions on the entire franchise based on the movie. The fandom consensus was that it Sucks Ass from the moment the casting was announced.

In fact it's likely this movie wasn't made for us, but for the lowest common denominator to "get" into Borderlands. However Borderlands is not made for the lowest common denominator. It's an acquired taste, and it won't be for everyone - in trying to make it for everyone, this movie was doomed from the very beginning. (Borderlands the games are a gorefest full of sex jokes! The movie is fucking PG-13.)

TLDR; if you watched the movie and the Borderlands universe/style/humor/story/etc. genuinely interests you, PLEASE play the games (if you're not into shooters that's fine, there are cheat trainers online and game movies on youtube plus two of the games in the series are Telltale-esque visual novels). Stop eating shrimp with wimps and eat lobster with a monster.

Party of Your Lifetime is genuinely insane because it could absolutely pass for a normal song but then you examine the lyrics in the context of the Infestation and it becomes a horrifying message hidden under fun tunes. Warframe is the only f2p game I've ever spent money on and I am not ashamed to say that.
