A year has passed since the October 7 war, the Gaza Strip war. In this war, Ammar Hammad was born in harsh conditions. He was 3 months old and could not breastfeed from his mother because she suffers from asthma in the lungs and no milk comes down in her udder. There is a report from Nasser Hospital about this. Ammar needs about 10 packs of milk to help him live in these conditions, in addition to diapers and his special clothes. In addition, Ammar's son suffers from a complete tear in the cruciate ligament and cannot work. Therefore, Ammar needs your help to stay alive.

I suffer from asthma and lung disease, and I cannot breastfeed my child because there is no milk coming into my chest. i have been in contact with samah, who has been writing these posts - she is currently sleeping in the rain without shelter with her son, as they have no tent with which they can rest in
therefore i would like to ask us to focus on a temporary goal for her to focus on getting her a tent - the cheapest tent for her right now would cost $1,500
but she also has expenses for her son, as a carton of milk is $90 and adult diapers are $120 a pack - she is only able to obtain these diapers for her son that she then cuts small; due to how the adult diapers are made, it tends to inflame his skin, as well as cause infections. her son goes through two and a half packs a month
there are baby diapers available, but they cost much more at $460 a pack - i would like to ask for us to consider these costs as well in her needs, and if possible to get her some milk and two packs of baby diapers to at least temporary relieve her son of the discomfort of the modified adult diapers
therefore, my total ask for a temporary goal is $2,510, which is €2,308, but with a side note of reaching €1,379 so that they can have their tent first. i hope you will all help the ammar family with what they need
i noticed others mentioning in reblogs that they need another $120 for their son - $120 usd is €111, so i have added this on to the amount
samah has contacted me and explained that a doctor has told her that he may have a hole in his heart. they need to conduct some tests to be sure of this, and only then can they focus on care - the tests in total cost $250, but she has gained enough that she needs only $105 more
$250 usd is €233 - therefore, i have tweaked the temporary goal slightly. i hope everyone will help samah and her son to get the care they need
for the urgent testing, she will need to reach €1,861 - let's try to get her there as quickly as possible
unfortunately, samah has explained to me that despite technically having reached the amount for testing, she has had to use a lot of this money for diapers and milk - when she receives €250, the fees make it become $190. the diapers and milk then cost enough that she is only left with $90 to give for her son's tests.
this means she still needs significantly more to afford all the tests - $160 in fact. i am not positive how the fees for those in gaza exchanging money are calculated as they are probably by percentage, but assuming she does not need milk and diapers again then i'll assume we need to reach perhaps €2,095 for her to be able to get those tests done
this is urgent as her son is very ill, so i hope we can get the rest of this money as quickly as possible
we are getting closer to reaching the temporary goal! i will ping once more, hopefully we will reach it very soon

I’m Hanan Alanqar, a divorced woman from the war-torn Gaza. I’m living with my brother, Jihad, who battles multiple chronic illnesses, along with his wife, Ola, and their ten-year-old son, Yousef. It’s my heartfelt commitment to care for Jihad, especially as he navigates these health challenges without much support. Together, we’re finding strength in each other amidst our struggles.
Jihad is a brave man facing unimaginable challenges at just 42 years old. He lives with multiple chronic illnesses, including High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and Celiac Disease. Due to health complications, he has lost his eyesight, his kidneys have failed, requiring him to undergo dialysis three times a week, and due to osteoporosis, his legs were broken which left him unable to move.
Sadly, the war has only deepened our suffering. Our house was destroyed, forcing us to seek refuge in Southern Gaza. We now live in a tent, struggling to find stability and safety. Being the most vulnerable member of our family, Jihad's health has worsened under these inhumane conditions, as he needs special treatment and nutrition which are not available.
Without a source of income, Jihad can neither afford the costs of transportation for essential dialysis treatments nor provide for his family's basic needs. Hence, he relies on the generosity of compassionate people to help provide for his family.
Jihad urgently needs to travel abroad for critical medical treatment and to ensure the safety and survival of his family. Every moment that passes deepens his suffering and heightens the risks faced by his family. Unfortunately, due to ongoing war and border closure, people are forced to pay exorbitant fees to escape Gaza, with costs reaching as high as $10,000 per person.

My husband Mohanad and I both worked as administrators at the Palace of Justice in Gaza.
We got engaged just two months before the war,
bought an apartment, and began dreaming of a new life together. But the war changed everything. Our workplace and apartment were destroyed, and we lost our jobs. Despite it all, we chose to move forward and got married in the middle of the war, with no wedding ceremony—just a simple union that symbolized resilience amid the devastation.
We’ve been displaced multiple times, each time facing a new eviction order and starting over again. We were forced to leave everything behind and flee with only a few belongings. The displacement was devastating, as we had to leave behind the life we built and the dreams we held for our future.
Today, we live in a small home in Al-Nuseirat, struggling to cover basic needs like food, water, and alternative electricity, facing monthly expenses we can hardly bear. Recently, a new eviction notice was issued for our area, and we don’t know what lies ahead. We’re searching for online work and have skills we can utilize, but finding opportunities has been very challenging under these conditions.
After renting the apartment in Nuseirat, we thought we had found a safe haven from the horrors of war. But on the night of 3-11-2024, explosions erupted nearby, and we never imagined one would hit our apartment. Suddenly, a missile struck; walls shook, parts collapsed, and windows shattered, leaving the room we had just been in destroyed.
We miraculously survived, but the place that once felt like a refuge had become a scene of chaos and destruction. With heavy hearts, we gathered what little remained and moved on once again, hoping to find shelter far from this endless devastation.
Any support would be a new source of hope for us.

Mohammed @mohammedalhabil lives with his mother Ibtisam, his sister Noha, and his sister Nour. They are a loving family, but have had more than their fair share of struggles. Mohammed’s father was martyred by the occupation in its 2014 aggression. Ibtisam and Omar, Mohammed’s older brother, supported the family themselves for many years. Then, in December 2023, Omar was martyred by the occupation while he and Mohammed were out gathering firewood. Mohammed was severely injured in the same attack.
This was not the last time Mohammed was injured by IOF violence. Mohammed has been injured on four separate occasions, resulting in his left leg being critically wounded. He had to have a full cast put on, rendering him unable to move any part of his leg.
He undergoes regular physiotherapy when it is safe enough to travel to the clinic, but unfortunately this is not enough to heal his wound. Mohammed is going to require intense, specialized treatment in order to fully heal his leg and regain as full of function as possible. Due to the occupation’s systematic destruction of Gaza’s medical infrastructure, this cannot be done in Gaza.
Mohammed will need to travel abroad to treat his leg, which will be a complex and expensive proposition. Just passing from Gaza into Egypt costs thousands of dollars, not to mention the costs of lodging, food, medication, and medical appointments. He is trying to raise funds so that when the border reopens, he will be able to arrange passage into Egypt, and begin his journey to fully healing.
His family is already struggling to survive, relying on mutual aid for food and other basic necessities. They lost their home due to IOF attack, and none of them are able to work. This means Mohammed has no way to pay for his travel and treatment costs without your support.

Unfortunately, the nature of his injury is such that he requires physical therapy nearly every single day. That’s $50 every. Single. Day.
Mohammed ALSO is trying to complete his secondary/high school education. In a remarkable show of resiliency, Gaza’s Ministry of Education has created a package to help students complete their studies outside of a conventional school. This is a wonderful opportunity, and Mohammed is very eager to take advantage of it. However, the package costs about $230, which Mohammed does not have.
To meet his needs, we have decided to set an ambitious new temporary goal of €15,000/$16,206. This will cover several weeks of physical therapy, as well as his study materials. Currently his campaign is a little over €10,000, thanks to support from all of you. He has made very good progress, and we think he can meet this new goal in about 1 month.

Folks, Mohammed is in a lot of pain right now. His injury will not heal properly without physical therapy. If it does not heal properly, he could be unable to walk for the rest of his life!!
