Also it turns out it is really helpful to your mental health to be able to accomplish boring chores like dishes when they are a quick few things and not an enormous pile of everything you own?? And then you find yourself doing things like not eating because it will add to the dishes and you know you won’t be able to do them any more than you could earlier so now maybe TECHNICALLY you don’t have an eating disorder but your eating habits look like one. And you feel horrible about yourself because why can’t you just do some damn dishes like a billion other people???

Like it or not being a functional human being does in fact depend on doing something other than ~experiencing things~. Getting rid of capitalism will not fix the fact that I have no executive function and can’t afford an actual adhd assessment and as a result spend a lot of my time just absolutely miserable because I physically cannot make myself start a task, any task. I hate the “value what you experience not what you produce” line SO MUCH because all I want to be able to do is produce clean dishes and laundry on a regular schedule and my brain just doesn’t work that way and it severely negatively impacts my life.

No snow here yet. Lots of Cybertrucks in my area, so I’ll keep an eye out.

There should be Cybertruck Winter, like Fat Bear Week. Where we see which cybertrucks fall first and which ones make it to the end in usable condition.

Dispatch from the far northern hemisphere and have witnessed a Cybertruck in the winter wilds.

We're early enough into the snow season in that the damage isn't obvious. My guess is that exposure to road salts are really going to destroy these ambulatory dumpsters, but we won't start to see that until spring. Road salt is difficult to impossible to get off in a regular car wash, and we know that Cybertruck can't handle even that.

On the one I saw, any metallic shine that the Cybertruck had was completely lost in a combination of cold winter temps, light street grunge, and lower ambient sunlight. It was the same color as my friend's early 2000s silver pickup truck. One of the big draws, imo, is that stainless steel panelling and to see it turn into the same shade of grey as one of the most popular truck colors twenty years ago would be disappointing to me. It's not special anymore.

Local Cybertruck enthusiasts who are salty dogs at winter driving have started vinyl wrapping their automotive basket cases. The trend seems to be to go from the door windows down, which gives them a beach cooler vibe that is similarly underwhelming.

They’re already having issues! The head lights are sunken in for some reason. This means there is a shelf to hold snow in front of the lights and block them.

Now, every car has to have the snow cleared off the headlights before you drive, but this is way worse. That shelf collects snow as you drive. People have to pull over and clear the snow off mid-drive because they lose their headlights.

What’s up with those eco friendly soap brands that use glass bottles but send you refills in plastic? At that point is me buying a plastic bottle from the grocery store and refilling it that much worse for the environment? It certainly doesn’t cut down on transportation related emissions.

And what about the bags some of them use? Those seem less recyclable than the solid plastic containers a lot of bigger brands use.

It’s weird watching some of these companies talk about soap refills like they’re some sort of new innovation when my family has been buying bulk soap refills for as long as I’ve been alive. We keep the same soap bottle around for a decade at a time until the kind we like is discontinued. We use a glass pump for dish soap. And are we trying to be eco friendly with that? No, we’re just being lower middle class about it. Those pennies on the ounce add up you know.

We used to use those foam soap refills to blow bubbles with because “why would I buy you more bubble soap when we’ve got soap right here?”

The bubbles they make are a bit heavier than bubble soap but it does work if you use one that’s not too thick.
