“W-Whoa, that’s one realistic hand, there…!” For a split second, he had been about to take the outstretched hand - as it looked so much like a regular one - that was until he noticed the realistic blood covering the hand and how the hand…didn’t seem attached to a body…! “T-That’s so cool…! W-Where’d you find that…?!”

“That’s because it is one, silly!”  Vivi giggles out almost nonchalantly as she just wiggles it around, holding this dismembered hand by its hanging wrist.  If one looked closely, it even appeared to be still fresh, as long as you could excuse the red food coloring staining its fingers.  “I had to convince one of our neighborly frankensteins if I could borrow a couple limbs for our Addams family cosplay.  Ya probably don’t remember Steve from our last halloween party, but he was a good sport about the entire thing.”

As if on cue, the lonesome hand animatedly flexes its digits, curling itself into the shape of a thumbs up.  It gave a light crack of its bones though, given it was still a tad bit old in its current age.  “Does the food coloring look all right to ya?  I had to make due with some of my ghostly husband’s kitchen supplies since theater blood always tends to be out of stock during this time of the Fall season.”  With the other still apparently sitting upon the front of her wooden home porch, Vivi leans her front onto her companion’s back; slithering her arms over his shoulders while still holding her prize.

“But… I almost fooled ya, yeah?”  She says.  Leaning her chin onto his shoulder, Vivi gives the other a mischievous grin that instant.  “This thing is sick!”

《🎸》 ⯮ ❝ So, you're telling me that things like ghosts & demons are real where you're from? ❞

Chai couldn't believe what he was hearing. Knowing that creatures from horror movies actually existed off of the island both scared & intrigued him.

❝ That's actually kinda awesome! Oh, have you ever seen werewolves before? ❞ ⯬ 《⚙️》

“Should I call my ghostly husband over and let ya be the judge of that for yaself?”  Vivi lightly jokes with a hearty giggle.  With her arms practically spread over the backrest of the park bench the pair rested upon, she sits there quite relaxed beside the other with a stocking leg crossed over another.  Her scarf idly flicks its fluffy ends behind her.  “But yeah, when ya make a business banking on finding the paranormal, ya gotta have the right nose for it.”

In that instant, she shifts her arms to settle behind her head, the investigator acting ever so casually even as the other excited pressed her for more information upon her night job.  “They live just like we do, but they just have a different lifestyle that can be a bit much for some.”  She says.  “We do have some werewolves for neighbors from where I’m from, too.  They’re just a bit more on the shy side given they were forced out of their homes a while back when me and my team had to bring them in due to their home gettin’... Well, ya could say they were chased out of it, so to speak.”  Vivi furrows her brows then, allowing her gaze to fall to the side as she tucked some loose hair behind an ear in that moment.

“It still took us a loooong time to find them a permanent home in Tempo when we had a ton of fosters we were taking care of, too.”  Her smile falters for a moment, only before she shook her head then.  Even then, as she directed her gaze back towards the fellow, the hearty joy of her smile creeped back up with an awkward tilt.  “But I can assume ya never heard of werecats either?”

"Can't we just go somewhere we could talk?" ( Vivi )

"Huh?" Over the blaring music that consumed some of the town's plaza, where people were enjoying themselves amongst the crowd of monsters and people dancing around in costume, Vivi blinks from her momentary trance of watching the giant band that played on the tall stage ahead. Feeling a few tugs at her scarf, the dame felt the other trying to drag her attention with a call; and perhaps it took a few tries for them to grasp for her attention given her eyes flicker to them with an energy of being startled. Her eye brows raise then. "O-Oh, I didn't see ya there, Lala."

The familiar chill of her hand instinctively grasps for the other's, if only to put some effort into wanting to acknowledge them in that instant. A loud, bright firework booms overhead, lighting up the night sky with an orange glow as she turns to fully face them. "We can go back to some of the food concession stands where its slightly more quieter." She says. "We.. We can talk, yeah."

The maze of halls that make up the sprawling factory creak and groan. From somewhere deep within the bowels of the gutted building groan long-neglected and withering parts of the crumbling infrastructure. The sound of broken concrete and rebar clattering to the ground echoes through spiraling corridors. Long-dried stains cake the dusty floors and join a cacophony of broken and misplaced toy parts. Some especially damaged areas harbor flickering lights that strain to maintain illumination over the decrepit surroundings.

Yet, amidst the seemingly lifeless husk of the factory, there remain trace signs of life. The occasional sound of objects being moved or knocked over. The disruption in the thick film of dust that seems to blanket everything- the drag marks of fingers tracing along countertops and walls. Footprints that cut through pale grey betray the path of person that was here - recently. Beside said tracks, irregularly placed yellow dot stickers that fail to match any of the other decor of the mausoleum. A TV in the corner of the front lobby plays static from a VHS tape that's been looped to its end; a warning against intruders. But it seems to have gone disregarded.

Sure enough, by the VCR they find an answer. it's a note with a hastily written message scrawled on a salvaged scrap of paper.

'Mystery Skulls - If you're reading this, I've already gone ahead with trying to access the facility. I'm sorry, I just couldn't wait anymore. This place is creepy and I'm desperate for answer. From what I remember, bypassing the security systems in place was going to take a while anyway. I figured I would try and scout ahead since I was already here and see what route would be best to take. I marked the path I took with yellow stickers on the ground. Hope to see you soon. -- Angel'

How thoughtful. Impulsive? Very much so. But desperation was a powerful motivator, and if Angel had made one thing clear, it's that they were very much desperate. For answers, for closure. For the truth.

And indeed, they could only go and seek out some type of closure for this truth, too.  Arthur, while the most cautious of this adventure for the three, had been poking around the desk some more to keep his brain occupied.  Lewis on the other hand kicked around some rubble given he never left a stone unturned, even in death.  Yet with their quick look over some of the front lobby, it didn’t take long for one of them to spot the out of the place bright note amongst the more unruly state of things; and Vivi happened to have a good eye for detail despite having the worst eyesight out of the gang.  Mystery had already been close on her heel, sniffing out the old rust collected VHS stand in silence as the blue dame quickly skimmed over the hastily made note.  Her nose scrunches up a little, alongside a couple brows furrowing in that instant.

" He lifts up the object, the creature, the thing. It is a plastic, red spray bottle that seems to have small, nubby feet, like a toy giraffe. When he lifts it between them, and you look very close, you can see its legs slowly squirming. Liquid can be heard inside it like any other bottle. " A healthy Cherry Blitz can easily clean any tough stain, including Zalg, and some Difficult Spills!Every purchase comes with FREE legal adoption papers at checkout. " He then lifts the bottle closer for them to take it.

Ever so curious as she were to find herself in this strange establishment, when Vivi was mostly just coming in for a bit of window shopping, the dame had been quite the unexpected target for this salemen’s retail speech.  She could honestly care less that he didn’t quite have a head strongly attached to his shoulder, since in all honesty there had been more gruesome appearances she’s witnessed with all the ghouls and monsters tried to stab her for disturbing their resting grounds; and so for his tidied up looks and light mannerisms… Vivi could look past it given she wanted to talk off this stranger’s ear more than anything.  It’s not everyday she got to do some dimension hopping shopping!  Working in retail often meant being persistent, too.

Gently, she does take the nubby little creature into her hands, its contents giving a light swish of its presumed cleaner fluid insides.  Its skin felt rubbery and squishy, even as it squirmed and blew out a light bubble in her direction.  She blinks at it, with a couple eyebrows raising at its funny attitude.

What a funny little thing.  If its upkeep is very important?  How long of a life expectancy would she expect on one of these things?

“Does this Cherry Blitz have any preferences on where it rests too?”  Her gaze lifts up to pin upon the salesman that instant.  The dame tilts her head then.  “Are there any health complications I’d need to be aware of?  Any viruses I’d need to prepare for if it were to get sick for my long term uses?  Would it get along with my animals just fine, or would I need to slowly introduce it into the household where I’d need to prevent any social hazards, too?  How old is this lil fella anyway?”

“Ya are borrowing an old scarf of mine I used to wear forever ago.”  As she spoke, Vivi moved from the other’s side to promptly open the front door of the house for them.  The giant faded sage door squeaks open upon its hinges as a light, brisk breeze quickly pours in with a dull whistle.  “It’s probably a bit out of season, isn’t it?”  She grasps onto her cushy blue coat to hold onto with a knitted purple mitten.  Turning upon her heel, the dame flashes the other a questioning look with a raised brow.  “Is my mechanic husband’s old coat feeling comfortable, by the way?”

“I’m not sure it feels as big as it looks.”  She adds.  “But we have to make due since I only have so many winter clothes to spare, too.”

❛ i like your spirit. ❜ (for Vivi!)

"Hey!" Yelps the blue haired dame as she's mashing plastic buttons hard into her flimsy unbranded controller. A set of brows already furrow with a glint of frustration. Vivi seems to lean into the fellow's side out of habit to gain some leverage on their shared worn couch, with one leg lifted outwards to one side as her body shifts to burden its weight onto the opposing guitarist. "That doesn't mean ya should be beating me up in this Smash tournament though!"

"I'll show ya for using that special item!" She flashes the other a slight glare up towards him as they played. "Ya will pay for that!"

❝ Not really . Been a while since I stopped in one of these places , thought I'd look around before finishing up my errands for the day . ❞

Years of customer service taught the best form of flattery is honesty . Sure it's unusual to find a paranormal investigator around these parts but , all in all it makes the city a bit more lively in her book . Though one can only hope a keen eye like Vivi's can tell the difference between a fairy circle and a salt ring .

Regardless she's happy to strike up conversation , get to know people better instead of keeping to herself like back in her old town .

❝ Buuut , if you have anything insightful on forest faes here I'd greatly appreciate it . ❞

“Oh!  I think we have some old volumes upstairs detailing those types of fae.”  She claps her hands together that instant.  Straightening herself up from out of habit, she rolls a shoulder as she rises from her spot upon the counter.  “It just entirely depends on the forest type, of course.”

With a hand still settled upon the worn counter, it trails beside her as she moves and finds her way out through the little swinging gate that separated her and customers during the day.  Her dark blue scarf flicks behind her like a curious tail, moving with a slight sense of life that could’ve hardly been seen from behind her lil hiding spot.  “From my own personal experience in general, forest fae will sometimes be polite as long as ya respect their rules.  They have quite a thing for manners, and even more protectiveness for their home given this day and age.”  She giggles in reply.  “It just depends on what you’d be looking to catch though.  But we always have something for everyone at Tomb Tome.”

“It makes sorting everything a bit of a hassle, but–,” she shrugs–, “Nothing is ever too old when there’s a brain wanting to learn something.  Are ya looking for something in the birch category or are we trying to search for a seasonal fae of sorts too?  Knowing their behavior is where you can find them best.”

" Am I interrupting something ?? " - For Vivi

"Hmm?" Looking up from the messy pile of papers that littered half of the dining table, Vivi's gaze lands upon the other with raising brows. She lays her idling pen down, still particularly grasping grasping it with a halfhearted curl of her fingers. "Oh! I didn't hear ya come in, Eileen." In that instant, the dame quickly perks up at the other's intrusion. A light smile quickly graces itself upon the woman's features.

"Come, come! Sit." She makes a gesture with a free hand towards the chair across from her. Normally she hardly ever liked to do work in a public place, where food could often be a distraction for her, but Vivi wanted to meet with a friend to go over some paranormal notes. If not to get a second opinion at least on an important topic. "I've been wanting to talk to ya about something. I figured ya might be a nice fresh pair of eyes to this project I've been working on for a while now."

Layla  could  only  dream  about  putting  up  a  pillow  fort  as  big  and  as  comfortable  as  this  one  .  In the past , she constantly found herself lacking enough  pillows  or  enough  blankets  ,  and  her  old  bedroom  used  to  be  way  too  small  for  how  she  imagined  it  .  But  this  ?  This  is  absolute  perfection

She  wasn't  sure  she'll  ever  be  able  to  get  out  ,  especially  with  the  promise  of  movies  and  snacks  .  The  siren  has  always  been  the  type  to  seek  out  comfort  spaces  ,  a  sanctuary  where  all  of  her  worries  could  be  left  at  the  door  even  for  a  short  while  ...  she  couldn't  understand  how  they  did  it  ,  but  Vivi  and  Lewis  seemed  to   know  exactly  what  she  needed  almost  as  if  they  knew  Layla  their  whole  life  ,  she  couldn't  believe  anybody  could  be  this  good  with  people

𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐲  𝐓𝐡𝐞  𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫  𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫  .  𝐈  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫  𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞  𝐭𝐨  𝐩𝐮𝐭  𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫  𝐚  𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭  𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭  𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤  𝐚𝐭  𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞  𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐡𝐨𝐰  𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞  𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞  𝐢  𝐡𝐚𝐝  𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞  .  𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞  𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞  𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐢𝐧  𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬  ─ 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬  𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝  𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲  𝐛𝐞  𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐨𝐟𝐟  𝐢𝐧  𝐦𝐲  𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞  .

The  siren  giggled  lowly  at  the  memory ,  the  comforting  gesture  of  the  other's  arm  on  her  shoulder  washed  her  with  relief  as  she  rested  her  own  scaly  hand  on  top  of  Vivi's  .  Maybe  she  was  going  to  be  alright  up  here,  after  all

As  Layla  began  to  slowly  and  carefully  crawl  inside  ,  the  soft  and  plush  texture  of  the  pillows  and  blankets  instantly  produced  a  sense  of  calm  and  warmth  within  her  almost  as  if  she  was  wrapped  in  an  embrace  .  In  fact,  she  could  already  feel  her  nerves  begin  to  soothe

“Just wait until ya see the inside!  It’s huge!!  She giggles in reply with a light pat to Layla’s back.  And with allowing the other to head in first, Vivi is quick to follow closely behind once her friend gets half way into the short tunnel, leading inside.  “It’s like you’re crawling on clouds almost with how much we had to stuff in here.”

Now, with each pad of the hands that came to pull them closer into the fort’s pastel pink and yellow colors, the tight blanket tunnel that engulfed their vision softly tickles against the pair’s skin with its loose yarn threads.  The air smelt of a faint stink of wood, or even a lost scent of fabric glue, lingering closely as it clings with a persistent prick to dig up old memories of nostalgia; from a time that’d been almost lost.  And the further the pair inches in further into the belly of their fort, the tunnel quickly eases its embrace on them, with the walls easily widening to reveal the giant living room inside.  Covered from the floor to the couch (leaning against the wall) that held up some of the tent with pride, the quilted, softly vibrant, ground lets out a lazy blow of air at the duo’s presence.  A faint sound of static feels the duo’s ears, with a white fizzling light lighting up the tent with its flickering glow, the old box TV the gang owned apparently had been turned on sometime earlier before the pair’s arrival.  An old gray VHS player lay beneath, still holding a lil block of tape still hanging in its gaping mouth, ready to consume its old treat to play the awaiting movie that seemed to be picked out just for them.  And in front of it, a small pile of junk food laid idly about, looking like it was half haphazardly thrown onto the floor in a hurry.

“Heh.” She chuckles aloud.  Padding around the other, she lifts herself up into a crouch, as the dame moves to claim herself a spot upon some of the giant colorful lumps that seemed like a beanbag; ready to embrace her into the old dusty packing peanuts with a crunch.  “Make sure to find yourself a spot, Lala.  There’s plenty of room to move around in here.”  Vivi makes a wide wave of her arm about the fort.  “Just mind the snack bags a lil, I couldn’t quite find a good place to throw them around.”

Settling into a randomly placed lump of fluff she found herself in, the dame settles her arms behind her head as she crossed a leg over another.  The lil pile of blankets crunches underneath her as it shifts with her weight.  “Are ya a fan of old cartoons, by the way?”  She asks.  “We had a bit of these old tapes laying around that we haven't played in foooorever.  I just wonder if these things still work..”

Despite all her best efforts to attempt to hide the shaking restraint of her burdens, it did not fall short on the ghost at all.  Her nipping demons bit and scratched at his heart as it did to torment her in that instant, where his body could do little but endure this sadness that washed over him like a wave.  Lewis reflexively tapped his thumbs together out of habit, a minor stim to let some of the sudden empathic energy that took to him like a stranger buzzing against his ghastly skin.

But he looked down at his companion, his brows furrowing together as his concern shone brighter.  He couldn’t even look away from her, seeing her look so small where his heart could only ache for the tears that were threatening to spill.  His eyes flicker across her form for a moment, yet only to shift it back to meet her upwards stare with a lingering silence.  In so many ways, she reminded him so much of the person he used to be, so much smaller and frailer then when the world seemed so vast and new.  So vast and scary to think about, too.

But in his heart, he couldn’t let her burden this pain on her own; especially as a friend.  The lowering heat of the sun burned upon his skeletal features, an old warmth of some idle anger he’d wish to keep from flaming to the surface.  And for his friend, he was somewhat mad.

Yet he couldn’t summon the strength to let it spill forth.  Not now.  Not when he could use that energy for the better.

In that instant he takes his friend into his arms, embracing them into a hug then.  Warmth washes over the other’s skin, and instinctively he started to rub idle circles into Layla’s back.  “War… sometimes leads to resentment, I feel.”  He whispers.  “Resentment for those that were lost, maybe.  I used to resent losing my own life but..”  He pauses for a moment, shifting in his seat a little with having to adjust for their shared embrace.

“.. From what you tell me?”  He says.  “That resentment had grown into an injustice.  One where they can’t quite move away from.  Some do, and.. Some don’t.”  He tilts his head.  “But taking it out on you isn’t fair to you, either.”

❝ Nah , a handshake will do just fine . ❞

Though it would be interesting to see someone take a knack at the first letter . Mortals have an unusual way of handling problems , and while she's still growing accustom to this place and it's locals she never expected paranormal activity to be one of the reputations . Guess living in the city has made her forget how little oddies of that sort can easily liven up a small town .

Painted nails grasp her hand , squeezing it gently before opting to shake .

❝ Eileen , C'est un plaisir . ❞

As soon as the angel takes Vivi’s pale hand into her own, a brisk chill pricks against their skin like frigid ice.  The dame returns the other generous squeeze with a firm clutch of her own, with the quick follow up of a shake she could muster while leaning over the cashier counter; and it even took a little raise of a heel to raise the other for their shared handshake.  The investigator lets out another giggle, being quite amused with the other’s general politeness.

“Nah, tout le plaisir est pour moi.”  She replies promptly.  It’s been a honest while since she’s really dusted up on her French since grade school, but she could only hope she’d pronounced most of their language correctly given she’s hardly touched it in forever.  “It’s always nice meeting a new face around town when ya’ve gotten to know most of them through your travels.  And I’d certainly remember if I got to see a lovely looking face on any summer’s day like this!”  And with a little flattery to boot, too!  Sometimes it worked best with a bit of show business of course.

Retracting her hand then, she immediately takes her freed hand to fix her glasses a tad; nudging them back up onto the bridge of her nose as she looked the other down that instant.  The counter creaks, protesting at her leaning her weight onto its back as she lazily stood there.  She tilts her head a little.  A raised brow perks up upon her lively features.  “Yet it isn’t hard to tell ya ain’t from around here either.”  Vivi says.  “Did your curiosity bring ya all the way here to our doorstep, Eileen?”

“Because I can see ya probably didn’t come all the way in Texas to get yaself a comic, from what ya told me so far.”  She adds.  “Are ya looking for anything specific, by chance?”

She  retracted  her  hand  as  fast  as  she  could  and  began  giggling  like  a  complete  idiot  while  incoherent  babbling  escaped her  mouth .

Just as quick as the other drastically pulled their hand back from her impish advances, Vivi was just as fast to cling to her companion like a magnet that refuses to let off.  The familiar tickle of her icy chill is swift to tangle against the other’s skin, where she engulfs the other into the wrapping embrace of her fluffy sweatered arms.  The dame gives her friend a giant squeeze around the torso before squishing the side of her cheek against Layla’s in a comical attempt in flustering her just a bit further.

“What’s the rush, my dear blue~?”  She teasingly sings out.  “Why are ya shy all of sudden, after endlessly teasing me during our walk through the woods, my sweet?  Ya said ya wanted my entire attention, didn’t ya not?”  In all honesty, all their playful jokes while they had been chatting about the latest monster failing to take over Tempo had been in playful fun, Vivi tended to bend the truth a little just a tad.  Even if it was a bit nonsensical and dots were being connected where they shouldn’t.  Was it going to stop her though?

No.  Not when she caught the other way off guard like this!  It was almost too fun, and perhaps a bit too bad she didn’t have her camera brought with her for just a precious moment to be saved.  It always made her smile seeing her friends laugh… For what’s a companion without happiness to follow them?

“Or is my favorite gal of all time leading me on~?”  She teases some more.  “Because I see a pretty smile on her riiiiight here!”

𝐘𝐞𝐬 , 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞

The  sun  has  been  beating  down  mercilessly  on  this  town  for  weeks  now  ,  and  frankly  Layla  had  no  clue  how  much  longer  she  could  take  it  ...  she  wondered  how  it  was  even  possible  for  a  place  on  the  surface  to  reach  temperatures  so  much  higher  than  The  Hotlands  '  themselves  ,  it  literally  felt  the  same  as  standing  inside  of  a  furnace  at  this  point  and  she  was  dangerously  close  to  becoming  fried  fish

One  significant  difference  was  she  could  get  in and out  of  the  Hotlands  whenever  ,  but  up  here  ?  She  had  to  endure  it.  There's  no  escaping  the  sun  ,  even  the  usually  cool  waters  of  the  nearby  beaches  felt  warm  and  uninviting  ...  other  than  dirty ,  occasionally  .

Yet  ,  among  this  horrendous  heat,  Layla  was  glad  to  have  found  relief  in  her  dear  friend  Vivi  .  There  have  been  more  than  a  few  instances  where  she  found  herself  wondering  how  a  human  body  could  keep  a    constantly  cool  temperature  all  the  time  regardless  of  the  what  the  current  weather  looked  like  ...  and  the  revelation  brought  the  answer  to  her  questions  .

A  touch  of  awe  washed  over  her,  she  had  never  met  any  human  before  with  such  a  unique  heritage  trait  ...  could  she  also  wield  winter  magic  ,  she  wondered  ?  That  sounded  like  an  interesting  conversation  topic  to  explore  over  pizza

It would easily explain why Vivi often persisted at wearing her blue sweater despite it being a million degrees in this Texas heat.  Maybe she could barely manage up a bit of sweat in this type of weather too?  Not even in the middle of July??  It’d be a bit hard to tell though, when she has about as much energy as a kid running on a ton of sugar for her young age.  Not like it really stopped her from chatting her yap off though.

“Eh, I can’t exactly blame ya.  Sitting in the dark a lot does tend to make ya forget how unforgiving the sun can be upon your sensitive skin.”  As they continued walking, bright and vibrant shops shot up into the pair’s view; with many having clear windows showing off their latest displays in fashion as they did getting a good look into strange restaurants dining areas that almost beckoned for you to linger a tad longer.  The sidewalks were bustling with the town’s people, where people and spirits alike passed each other in a rush to get to work or grab themselves a bite to eat for the eager lunch rush at this dawning hour.  Vivi held tight to her companion's hand, their fingers locked together a bit rigid within the dame’s pale palm.  “But ya do kinda get used to it after a while though.”

In that instant, she lets out another chuckle to herself.  Suddenly, where her scarf once hung there limp upon her back like a noodle, it springs to life the next; with one end of its dark blue cloth slapping onto the siren’s back like an arm, pulling her to Vivi’s side just to sidestep around a dog that stopped in the middle of the walkway.  Vivi pays it little mind to it as she continues on speaking.  “Did the glitter have a unique taste to it at least?”  She throws a raised brow over her shoulder.

“I don’t think even Arthur would be able to stomach that after all the…”  She pauses for a second.  Her gaze flickering to the side before continuing once more.  “.. Let’s just say my husband has some odd taste buds for pizza that would make my ghostly husband reel from his own cooking for a week.”

"Hmm?" The ghosts hums aloud over his shoulder in that instant. The stove sizzles with the sounds his delicate cooking, with a pan dancing atop the fire of the gas cooker licking at the metal's bottom. The scent of smoky bacon fills the air as he lightly tosses the pan to flip its insides about. "And where might that be, Layla?"

"What? Ya think I'd let the void hurt ya for ya first dimension hopping?" The familiar cool of her palms engulf the siren's own, their fingers tangling together as Vivi gently pulls the other towards her amongst the night sky that circles them both. The air has an electric sensation, tickling against the pair's skin with a faint buzz. The dame offers the other a gentle smile, with a sprinkle of humor lingering beneath the surface hidden with a light giggle. "Ya asked if ya wanted to come with us on this trip to this candy dimension we've been saving up for." She hums.

"This wormhole is just a convenient way we travel about occasionally." She says. "Ya're pretty lucky Arthur suggested we'd take one of the more easier ones though. Sometimes these things tend to.. tear ya apart and put ya back together if you're not expecting it."

❝ Word through the grapevine sent me here , actually . ❞

People gossip in this town , even more with recent events causing activity . If Ghostbusters taught her anything it's to always look for help in places you never think to find it , leading her right to this very place . Granted a comic book store isn't exactly the best line of retail but , you find all the best people among those old , dusty volumes .

It wasn't exactly a mission that resulted in the angel coming here , more or less curiosity as her knowledge of the paranormal tends to limit itself to fables and other magic elements . A brief flutter from her appendages as they press further against her spine while she speaks .

❝ Though I suppose you're right in a sense . Cops aren't exactly cut for this kind of task . ❞

“Yeah, ya should see how they fair on taking care of some of the odd villains we get rolling into town every once in a while.”  If it wasn’t for Tempo often disappearing to outsiders everytime it sensed some heavy type of danger at its borders, the most they get in crime is more low tier baddies who often happened to be out bad on their luck.  Sometimes they could be harmless, where they might even get reformed into being this dame’s next door neighbor, too; given half of the town attracted its own share of monsters that lived normal lives like the rest of its residents.  “If they’re not dealing with a robbery, they can only do so much against someone who flattens them with an anvil.  Can be hard to get around if you don’t know your toons, too.”

With a light chuckle to herself, Vivi blows a puff of air at a few strands of hair that lazily draped over her light blue eyes.  “But hey, the name’s Vivi, Vivi Yukino.”  The investigator outstretches a pale hand then towards the other, offering her palm for the other to take.  “Most just call me Vi around these parts, if you’re willing to get past all the chills these ghosts bring, friend.”  She jokes.  “What brings ya to this part of town on a hot day like this?  Ya got a name yourself, or do I gotta guess it to pass some type of riddle, now?”
