First Moon
N-369 looked beyond the the glass wall at all the scientists watching him. He didn’t know what was going on. They all just... watched him. Some of them had notepads, others were sitting behind large computers. The creature watched as the head scientist, who claimed to be his creator, stepped forward.
“Try to relax,” Harry Carmen said. “It will be for a few minutes.”
N-369 watched as his creator turned to the young man next to him.
“Watch, Mr. Andes,” he heard Carmen say. “What you’re about to see will be extraordinary.” Andes nodded hesitantly.
N-369 didn’t understand what was going to happen. Was it good? What would it be?
Minutes passed, nothing happened. Until a strange warmth spread throughout N-369’s body. It didn’t bother him. But soon enough, he began to feel hot. He clutched his long white gown slightly. He began to sweat, and his breathing became unsteady. What was this? He trembled, and let out a slight grunt of pain. He felt like he was burning!
Suddenly, pain shot through him. He cried out in pain as he doubled over. He gasped for breath as he wrapped his arms around himself. He was burning up. A moment passed and the pain dulled only slightly, and he felt an ache in his hands. He focused his purple eyes on his trembling hands as he slowly brought them up to his eye level. Slowly the pain built. He watched in horror as claws slowly emerged from his finger tips. He grunted sharply as his knuckles began to crack and pop, watching his hands slowly lengthen. It was agonizing, and the crackling became frequent. N-369 held back from shouting as his hands continued stretching, and he noticed that his fingertips and palms became thicker and rough.
And that’s when it went to hell.
N-369 cried out in agony, as pain engulfed him once more. This time he dropped to his knees. He felt like he was on fire! What was happening to him? A horrendous ache settled in his arms as his muscles began to grow. His arms began to broaden, and he crawled towards the glass, and began to fearfully bang on the glass. It must be strong as it didn’t shatter.
“H-help!” He shouted painfully as he continued to pound the window. “Please!” His creator looked at him, and bowed his head. He had a small smile on his face. N-369’s terrified eyes darted to the younger man next to Carmen, who had a very concerned and scared expression on his face.
The werewolf doubled over once more, moaning helplessly as his back arched violently, the sickening sounds of stretching and cracking bones filling the air. He raked his claws against the tile, leaving claw marks.
“It... hurts...” he whimpered as tears began to well in his eyes, which were screwed shut. He groaned as his vertebrae began to push against his back, vertical bumps visible through his gown. The agony traveled down to the base of his spine, as he felt a terrible pressure at his tailbone. A tail inched its way out from under his gown, tucking itself between his legs, which have also begun to change.
His leg muscles broadened, and his feet began to stretch out the same way his hands did, his growing hind claws scraping the floor. The front bottoms of his feet pulsated as padding formed. He cried out helplessly as the changes progressed. His legs have taken on a digitigrade form, but they were still extending at such a slow pace. He arched his back once more, a terrible scream escaping him as his shoulder blades cracked and widened, and his spine stretched more.
“Please...” N-369 growled under his breath. “...stop...” His gown finally ripped down the back, revealing his spine pushing against his back.
He rolled onto his back as his chest muscles slowly broadened. A six-pack slowly formed on his stomach, and his ribs popped as they pushed out against his chest, visible through the front of his gown. Finally, the gown ripped at the top front as well, exposing his built chest.
N-369 wheezed for breath as the transformation paused. He struggled to open his eyes. When he did, he looked down at his mutated body. He was horrified, but at the same time, it felt... natural.
A prickling itch covered his skin as the change began to continue. He panted as he watched blue and red fur cover his entire body in waves. His fluffy tail wagged around wildly. His body tensed up as the pain intensified again. He rolled onto his stomach and held himself up on all fours as his muscles broadened more.
He screamed helplessly in pain as his back muscles writhed under his thick pelt of fur, splitting the gown towards the top. Soon enough, the gown could no longer contain his growing frame, ripping off of him completely. He was completely covered in fur as he continued to get bigger.
A hot pain filled his throat as his gasps got raspier by the second. Tears streamed down his face. He just wanted this to end! Please, make it stop!
N-369’s eyes snapped opened, his purple eyes now a bright, animalistic yellow. A horrible scream escaped him as his face began to stretch, forming a muzzle. His hair blended in with his fur to become a mane covering his neck. His agonized screams became strained and deep, until they were the roars of a wounded beast. The fur covered the rest of his face, and with a loud, sickening crack, the transformation was finally complete.
N-369 threw his head back, letting loose a loud howl. The pain had faded away. All he felt now was power.

Original Story/Concept: The Lycan
The Lycan is an original concept that I’ve been brainstorming more than a year ago. I thought I could post about it in detail here.
If anyone’s interested in reading this, this is a long one.
The Lycan is a story about a genetically engineered werewolf created in an isolated laboratory run by Harry Carmen, the founder of the lab. The lab experiment ultimately escapes from the facility and into the nearby forest with the help of a friend, Matthew Andes. After a decade, the lycanthrope meets a lively young woman named Katie Sparrows. Finding a new friend, as well as being reunited with an old one, they uncover the dark secrets of GFF (Genetic Fusion Facility), as well as a dangerous weapon that could put the very existence of civilization and humanity in peril.
Major Characters:
Nero (Project N-369)
N-369 is the result of the combination of human DNA and wolf DNA. His genetic make-up is also the reason for his lycanthropy. He is a failed experiment, as he was intended to fully resemble a human, which he obviously doesn’t. He was put through tests of strength, combat, and endurance. His transformations would be observed, as well as his behavior as a wolf. He never physically harmed anyone during his time at the lab, but an incident happened where he accidentally killed someone. Since then, he vowed to himself he wouldn’t harm anyone.
N-369 was timid, quiet-spoken, and highly intelligent when he was created, being fully capable of speech and thought. There was one scientist who worked at the facility he really trusted, Matthew Andes, who actually cared about him. Matthew showed him kindness, and called him “Nero” instead of his subject name. As the months went by, they both began to have suspicions of Carmen’s true intentions with N-369. They would soon find that Carmen doesn’t mean to simply give him a life to live, but to use him as a weapon. Matthew then decided to help his friend to escape the laboratory, and is successful, after a confrontation with Carmen. Chased by workers at the lab, and the full moon triggering his transformation(which he couldn’t have escaped without), N-369 escapes into the nearby forest.
Nero(finally taking on the name Matthew gave him) takes on the harsh conditions of the dense wilderness in isolation, facing bitter winter seasons and hostile animals. He’s gone feral, having fully embraced his animal instincts to survive. After a decade, however, he’s discovered by Katie Sparrows, a young woman he saves from a bear attack shortly after. She treats him for his injuries(the scars on his right arm), and comes to discover his secret...
Nero overall is rather timid, but he’s also very protective of those he cares about. He’s hardened and a loner, but he’ll open up to someone he truly feels safe around. He’s able to control himself when he transforms, but if his life depends on it, he’ll snap and fight like mad. He possesses unnatural strength, but also uses it when absolutely necessary, as he accidentally killed a worker at the lab with it. He has a gene mutation which allows his hair to become white and light blue during the winter, which also applies to his fur as a werewolf.
Matthew Andes
Matthew Andes formally worked at GFF as a researcher for Project N-369. He was the only scientist in the facility who showed empathy to Nero. Matthew was chosen to observe Nero the most. After finding out about GFF’s true intentions with Nero, he helped him escape after confronting Carmen with him. He left the facility, but was unable to find Nero. Assuming he’s escaped for good, Matthew left behind his job and started a new one as a biologist. When he meets Katie one day at the edge of the forest, he’s reunited with Nero, who’s changed drastically since he’s last seen him...
Matthew can be awkward at times, but he’s a pretty friendly guy. He’s very smart, and as previously mentioned, he’s very close friends with Nero. After he got acquainted with Katie, he seems to have secretly developed feelings for her...
Katie Sparrows
Katie moved to a cabin at the edge of the woods Nero resides in to soak in the natural setting. When walking her dog Nellie, she discovered Nero in the bushes, unconscious after the night of a full moon. When she turned around to process the sight, Nellie ran off into the bushes to follow Nero, who took off when he saw her back to him. Katie went to chase after her dog, when she runs into a bear. Before she and her dog could be mauled, Nero protected her and fought the bear off, injured in the process. Katie takes him home and tends to his injuries, as well as help him recover. The next night, she ventures into the forest alone, as Nero was gone when she came to check on him. In the forest, she finds him turning into a wolf-like beast. After Nero finds that she saw him turn, it takes a longer while for him to trust her, as Katie tries to bond with him despite what he is. It eventually works out, and when a few weeks pass, Katie and Matthew meet, and Matthew reunites with Nero. Knowing that it’s a risk if anyone else knows about him, Matthew explains to Katie Nero’s origins and the importance of keeping the secret...
Katie is lively and friendly to those she meets. She’s determined to help others when they need it, and doesn’t mind a nice conversation. She’s unaware of Matthew’s feelings for her, and her husky’s taken quite a liking to Nero.
Harry Carmen
Harry Carmen is the founder of the Genetic Fusion Facility, and Nero’s creator. He put his living experiment through tests of combat, endurance, and strength to bring out his vicious instinct to kill. He deemed Nero a failed experiment for his appearance and sentience, especially his refusal to kill, as he originally intended him to kill anyone on impulse. He intended to exterminate the failed project and try again, but after a decade since Nero’s escape, he finds out he’s with Katie and Matthew, and now sees his experiment as something truly useful...
Harry took Matthew into his facility to mentor him and work on Project N-369. He holds something dangerous, and he and Matthew know things about Nero’s origins that no one else knows...
