The Rings of Power & The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
"Other villains might try to find your weakness and poke at it. Sauron does something different where he tries to find what your strength is," Payne says. "The image of the eye is really appropriate, because Sauron sees you. He sees the best version of who you want to be, and then he's able to take your own desires for good and twist them to bring about his own evil ends."

to the person sending messages to EVERYONE blogging about trop about how amazon is problematic: i already knew this. i already watch other amazon shows. i watched good omens and the legend of vox machina. i don’t see anyone calling for mass boycott for those, which are popular on tumblr, or the boys or league of our own. all those shows are amazon shows with big fandoms. i don’t see anyone pressuring those fandoms to boycott.
just admit you’re simply not hyped for this show because you don’t like the lore changes and move on. ffs.

I. His interactions with Elendil, of all people
It'll make sense in just a bit. Let's dive into the bookverse, fast-forward to *after* the Downfall of Númenor (SA 3319), ~110 years or so after the Realms in Exile had been established in Middle-earth, with Elendil as high king. In this passage we're in the last year of The War Of The Last Alliance against Sauron (SA 3441):
Then Gil-galad and Elendil passed into Mordor and encompassed the stronghold of Sauron; and they laid siege to it for seven years, and suffered grievous loss by fire and by the darts and bolts of the Enemy, and Sauron sent many sorties against them. There in the valley of Gorgoroth Anárion son of Elendil was slain, and many others. But at the last the siege was so strait that Sauron himself came forth; and he wrestled with Gil-galad and Elendil, and they both were slain, and the sword of Elendil broke under him as he fell. But Sauron also was thrown down, and with the hilt-shard of Narsil Isildur cut the Ruling Ring from the hand of Sauron and took it for his own.

do i even need to say it-
so like do we think she took on the "drowned form" to play with his emotions since he pulled her from the sea and saved her life because... 👀
i think it’s interesting that Halbrand’s armor tone is pretty dark and Galadriels, of course bright silver armor
