I can’t help but think that maybe the reason lando and max have been such good friends off track is because they’ve never had to fight each other wheel to wheel, week in week out.
it’s easy to be friends when you’re not having racing incidents and playing the blame game every single time you get in the car. and then having to talk to the media and be asked repeatedly about your friendship and how it’s going to be affected.
maybe this is why the best of the best never seem to be genuinely friends. civil and friendly, sure. but name me two drivers that are winning (or have won) races and championships who are genuinely actually friends off track. i’m just not sure it’s possible
