As you all probably know, Yuuri’s VA, Toyonaga Toshiyuki, won the prestigious Best Lead Actor Award at the 12th Seiyuu Awards which took place on March 3rd, 2018. He won it specifically for the role of Yuuri, which only makes this achievement all the more relevant and praise-worthy to us as a fandom.

I decided to sub this historical (or, shall we say, history-making?) moment, including his receiving the trophy and his short speech afterward, for all fellow yoi fans and Toyonaga fans alike.

Honestly, I teared up while watching this little clip for the first time, Toyonaga teared up in the clip itself, so feel free to join this teary-eyed club of pride and joy. :’D

Yuri on Stage - Part 1 - Introductions and Greetings is now up and subbed!

Alright, here we go - let the chronological translations of Yuri on Stage begin!

From now on, when I release new translations of Yuri on Stage, they will be in proper order, as I sub every part I can sub from beginning to end. (You can follow this playlist and see when the next part comes out as soon as it’s out while also making sure you’re watching in the right order!)

This first part may not be the most exciting but it’ll be very useful in learning who is who so I really recommend watching!

Fair note: The translation of the rest of the event will be more messy than the translation of the drama because unfortunately people don’t enunciate so nicely and don’t mention the context of what they’re saying in normal conversations. There’s also the issue of multiple people speaking at once. I may not be able to make out what the emcees or the voice actors are saying and may end up guessing or just leaving parts blank. That’s the unfortunate part of translating by ear. Still, I’m aiming for 80%-90% accuracy. If you think I got something or wrong or missed something and want to correct a certain part, you’re more than welcome to tell me and I’ll add a note about it.

Also, starting with this part, you will inevitably need to memorize which color belongs to which VA and which VA voices which character. I hope that watching the video will help you guys remember who is who, but I am leaving the color-coding legend below:

I color-coded Kubo as red because pretty much all other colors are taken, but if it’s hard to read, do tell me and I’ll change it to something more neutral.

If a line is written in white with a black frame, then it’s said by the emcees or the audience.
