Blog Update

Hi guys! Some of you might have noticed (or not) but I haven’t been that active here anymore. It’s mostly because I’ve started becoming interested in other fandoms and I don’t want those to bleed into this tumblr, which I originally planned to solely be dedicated to Yuri On Ice.

But I’ve decided that I’m going to continue posting my art here even if they aren’t Yuri On Ice fan art.

I will still be returning to YOI every now and then, and applying to zines too. Don’t get me wrong, I still love YOI, and I owe my digital art to YOI because it, and the beautiful fan art that came with it, was what inspired me to actually start digital art. But yeah, until new YOI material comes out (the movie), I can’t promise to keep this blog purely YOI.

I’m sorry to those who followed me for endless YOI content, because I know there are a lot of you. However, I do hope that some of you can still appreciate the other art and fan art I produce. I soon plan on taking commissions and opening shipping of my prints internationally, so I hope I can find interested clients and customers among you too :)

Thank you to all 9000+ of you who have stuck around and followed me, whether for YOI content or otherwise. I’m really grateful for you and the fandom, which is so lovely and supportive at its best, and has introduced me to truly wonderful people.

Guys Phichit was at the Cup of China.

So like that lovely decision Victor made to kiss Yuuri after his free skate?

Phichit was there. He was watching. He saw the whole thing happen. 

He’d known Yuuri for ages, of course. He’s listened to Yuuri geek out about Victor and quad flips on multiple occasions. He knew what Yuuri’s theme was for the year. 

So the minute Yuuri changed that jump, Phichit just knew.

“Ciao Ciao, did you see that? That was a flip. That was a quad flip. That was Victor’s quad flip, oh my God. Ciao Ciao, do you know what that means??? VICTOR NIKIFOROV MOVE YOUR HANDS SO I CAN SEE YOUR FACE. Oh my God it’s official, it has to be official. It’s official and he didn’t tell me, Yuuri Katuski I’m going to to- No. No. No no no no no. Did he just- Ciao Ciao did you see that? DID YOU SEE THAT YUURI KATSUKI WHAT THE HELL???”

At that point, Phichit goes off towards the kiss and cry. Yuuri’s still there, of course. So Phichit waits. He stands there, aggressively foot-tapping, trying to look pissed and intimidating, but failing because goddammit why are they so cute??

Phichit grabs Yuuri by the arm the minute he’s out of the kiss and cry and just screams. 

Yuuri is unfazed by this.

Victor, on the other hand, is more than a little terrified.

A little fun fact about the birth of this blog: 

it has the same anniversary/birthday as the 12th episode of YOI, because goddamn, finishing YOI just inspired me so much. i couldn’t take it anymore. i loved it too much. 

so at first i tried converting my main (darren-tveiting) into a YOI blog. i changed its theme, its display pictures, it’s description, etc. But then i realized that if i let all my YOI fandom stuff onto that blog, any other fandom content would probably never see the light of day again.

and so i made an entirely new sideblog. the “viktuuri-pork” was very katsudon-craving-driven at the time. but yeah! here it is. 1 year later and still running ^u^

I guess i’ll be posting some fun stuff for the holidays! (not giveaways tho bc idk how tf to get shit around the world)

I love you and appreciate you and i hope you have happy holidays :) and Happy YOI anniversary!!!

YOI shadowhunters au

hi guys i’m actually a shadowhunters fan and i want to see my skating bbs as badass shadowhunters and downworlders so

  • Yuuri as the top Shadowhunter of the Tokyo Institute despite being a late bloomer
  • He knows how to wield more or less all the Japanese weapons but specializes in using one Wakizashi in each hand
  • He hadn’t gone to the Academy since Minako has always been there as his tutor
  • The Nishigori family heads the Tokyo Institute and Yuuri often helps train the triplets
  • Hiroko and Toshiya are somewhat retired, being a bit old, but help take care of the Institute. 
  • Mari, Yuuko, and Yuuri are the Shadowhunters who are most out and about of the Institute, sharing patrol shifts between them (they still think the other kids like Minami are too young)
  • Phichit is from the Bangkok Institute and he and Yuuri are determined to be Parabatai one day
  • Viktor Nikiforov is hailed as the best Shadowhunter of his generation and comes from the St. Petersburg Institute (but i could just as easily imagine him as a Warlock who has helped out Shadowhunters for decades)
  • Yuri Plisetsky is from the same Institute and has been living and training there for as long as he can remember. His grandfather doesn’t live in the Institute but visits him often enough
  • Yakov Feltsman is the Institute Head and can never ever ever catch a break with his kids, who ALWAYS sneak out on some godforsaken mission without telling him
  • Those adventures are usually led by Vitya
  • Yuuri met Vitya once in Alicante when he was around 8 and Viktor was 12, and even at that age Viktor was already showing his incredible potential
  • Yuuri hasn’t forgotten Vitya since and he hopes to take his travel year in St. Petersburg so he can train with him
  • Otabek is from the Almaty Institute but as a boy stayed in St. Petersburg for a summer, and that was when he met Yurio

for real though two of my friends are in a fine romantic healthy relationship and they’re more than 3 years apart AND both teenagers so like it IS possible in at least some parts of the world for that to be an okay, healthy thing and NOT pedophilia

whenever Viktor gets too annoying for Yurio to tolerate the blond kid yells “CHIHOKO IS BETTER THAN YOU” and Viktor will let out a hurt gasp and start crying bc it takes him a while to remember that n o, Chihoko is NOT an e-lover of Yuuri’s, but a fucking fish statue

Yuuri has to reassure Viktor and remind him that no one in the world is better than him, and by Yuuri’s request Beka will take Yurio out on a walk to cool down
