Philosophical questions that we would want to deal with in Cap 3 would be, you know, is he redeemable? Is he the worst assassin we’ve ever seen or is he the longest suffering P.O.W.? Where does he live now? Does he ever regain his memories? If he doesn’t regain his memories, can you call him Bucky Barnes or is he somebody new? So it’s a really fascinating character to play with. Very rich.

here’s what we know about captain america: civil war so far:
- returning for the creative team: joe and anthony russo (directors), christopher markus and stephen mcfeely (screenwriters since cap 1), trent opaloch (cinematorgrapher), henry jackman (composer) [markus&mcfeely and the russos will also be helming avengers: infinity war parts 1&2]
- from the cast of cap 2, chris evans, scarlett johansson, anthony mackie, sebastian stan, and frank grillo are confirmed to appear in cap 3
- despite reports that say otherwise, cobie smulders and samuel l. jackson have not personally confirmed their appearance in cap 3, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not appearing
- there has also been no word about emily vancamp reprising her role in this movie
- aside from the original cap 2 cast, jeremy renner and elizabeth olsen have also been confirmed to appear in this movie
- rdj will reprise his role as tony stark
- black panther will make an appearance in this movie, played by chadwick boseman
- daniel brühl confirmed that he is playing baron helmut zemo
- there has also been no confirmation that the vision (paul bettany) will appear in this movie
- it still remains unclear if spider-man is appearing in this movie
- filming has already begun in atlanta, and will follow in puerto rico and berlin
- civil will be essentially the consequence of the events of the winter soldier and age of ultron, and therefore “not about the secret identity thing, as much as it is about, overall, who reports to who, and who can agree to oversight committee”
- the timeline of the movie takes place “a couple of years” after winter soldier
- the focus of the movie will continue to be the relationship of steve and bucky, which is complicated by political and powerplay themes
- black widow will “continue to confront her past while participating in the civil war”
- chris evans: “morality hits tony, humanity hits tony. all of a sudden he feels responsible. neither of them are blindly convicted. it’s blurry and that’s what makes it great. no one’s right, no one’s wrong.” rdj: “it’s going to make it even harder for them to come to an agreement.”
- civil war will jump off into avengers: infinity war, and will set-up the real battle

The other element that will be a key focus is The Winter Soldier, whose existence is the big question as he has the ability to be a hero, but has also been a villain. This causes the main rift between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, as the disagreement leads them to opposing sides.
