695 days ago, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. There have been six playoff series since then, and on May 7th 2018, the Pens were eliminated from playoff contention. They had won 9 straight playoff series until this point and until that night, their last loss had been in 2015. They have won the last two Stanley Cups. Their chance to defend their crown may have ended, but their place in history remains as the first team in the Salary Cap era to win back-to-back championships. Thank you, Penguins. See you next year.
