POTO 13 Nights of Halloween- October 21
Strangers in the Night by @victorie-etoile
love was just a glance away…a warm embrace…a dance away…

For as long as you could remember, you’d spent every All Hallows Eve safely locked in your home with your sewing, a mug of warm chocolate, and a roaring fire. Cozy and warm, you’d stay bundled from the time the sun rose over the Parisian sky, to when it painted the atmosphere brilliant shades of orange to match the leaves, and finally, when the golden light disappeared to dip the world into frightening darkness.
You’d found comfort in the soft cracks and pops of the fire and felt utter bliss when you’d sip a warm mug full of tea or chocolate. When the fall weather started, it had become your evening tradition and you rarely broke your habits. Gently, you were lulled into a state of relaxation with the repetitious movement of pulling your sewing needle back and forth. Whatever worries you’d had during the day seemed to melt away and you’d be rewarded at the end of the night with a blissful sleep, full of pleasant dreams. Year after year, you were strictly on schedule.
However, this year was different. About a month ago, you’d began working at the Paris Opera in the wardrobe department. While it had been initially an entry-level position, your error-free work and speed had promoted you to a seamstress. Instead of spending your hours snipping off loose threads and making quick fixes, you were allowed to actually make new garments and designs along with the other people in the department.
