my friends held a slideshow presentation night so i made one about q and picard and this video was in it so i might as well show it to the world

imagine you start watching this new show and it’s a silly little show about space set in the future then they announce the next season so you wait excitedly for five months and finally it’s here… you all sit round the tv and suddenly one of the main characters who is known for being unemotional starts going mad because of “biology…” and you slowly realise that he needs to have sex or he’s going to die so the other main character risks his entire career to help him out then they start ‘wrestling’ on the sand and the one going through the mating fever ends up killing the other guy which ends the fever but now he’s depressed because he just killed his best friend but wait he’s not actually dead the unemotional one is overjoyed everything’s fine and then they go back to work like nothing happened… you look at everyone else sitting in stunned silence thinking “did any one else think that was a little… yknow” then you accidentally start modern fandom and shipping culture

The thing with k/s is like ok they’re not together but they’re in a relationship the entire time but they’re pining but they’re literally married but they’re always and never fucking and fucked or however that saying goes BUT if I actually had to pin down a timeline for them I feel like spock knows he loves jim for a very long time but jim only realizes his feelings once spock leaves for gol. And they get together shortly after the motion picture. Bc like in the series it’s always spock struggling with his attachment to Kirk and Kirk making out with random women but then in tmp Kirk is reunited with Spock and he’s like “Spock!!😍😍😍” and “I need him 🥺😭😭” (he literally said that) and holding his hand in sickbay like u KNOW he went thru some shit after spock abandoned him for two years and now he GETS it and also spock is less afraid of his emotions after V’ger so that’s why they spend the next few movies being so so gay for each other. That’s what I think 😁

tos set design really had the most unique and beautiful lighting of any trek. someone once said tng enterprise "smells like grandma's house" and ds9 is notorious for looking dirty and dingy and grimy all the time. and now we live in a post-aos world where the enterprise has to look like the apple store. white walls and floors and blinding white lights cause thats what ~~ the future~~ looks like. the tos enterprise had pretty brightly colored rainbow lights everywhere giving things such a lovely ambient glow.... its almost sensual.....
