Why are Japanese people telling me that only Japanese people have seasonal allergies? Where did this come from? Do they think that only trees in Japan have pollen?

Only Japan has seasons, the rest of the world is trapped in a vague, incomprehensible singular season or otherwise completely indistinguishable 13 seasons that blend together into a cartwheel of changes in weather. #actually more than 20% of the japanese popullation has seasonal allergy #other countries are always around 10%#and it gets worst in big cities like Tokyo #i'm not saying they are the only ones that have it #but they have it bad #I survived 2 pollen seasons in Japan #but half of my friends got sick #apparently if you are from a small city or a country with low pollen counts #you'll have a bad time in cities like Tokyo #I'm from a Big City with high pollen count #so my immune system was fine I guess #luckly Japan is working on lowering the pollen count for years and this year for the first time they had low numbers so #good news maybe #japan
