November 1, 1991: Disney's Fantasia (1940) is released on VHS.
Released over 50 years after its original theatrical release, the film was a huge hit on home video, selling over 14.2 million copies by 1992.
Happy belated 31st anniversary, The Nightmare Before Christmas!
October 29, 1996: Disney/Pixar's Toy Story (1995) is released on VHS.
The film was one of the best-selling VHS releases of 1996, with over 21.5 million copies sold in its first year.
October 28, 1994: The first Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection titles are released.
Among the first titles released include Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (which was also the first time the film was released on home video), Dumbo, Robin Hood, Mary Poppins, and more.
The Special Edition VHS release of The Nightmare Before Christmas (2000)
This is the last VHS release of the film. In addition to the main feature, this tape also includes over an hour of bonus features including a behind the scenes featurette, the short films "Vincent" and "Frankenweenie", and a trailer for the film.

This is the first title released in the Gold Classic Collection and it is the only release in the collection not to initially receive a DVD release alongside the VHS.
In addition to the film, this release also contains the short film Tin Toy and a behind the scenes featurette.
