I am starting a petition to show Amazon how dedicated we are.

I originally reblogged this supporting it, but I than came to know info that made me change my mind

This one episode was not saved by Amazon, but by Rhianna Pratchett and Rob Wilkins. Amazon wanted to cancel it, and they had canceled it already. They were later convinced to do at least this one episode. 

Amazon do NOT want to produce it, not the series, not the movie. 

If we sign this petition Amazon will us it as an excuse to cancel it again, because they will claim that "the fan don't like the idea of only one episode." And it won't matter if it is a twisted truth, it won't matter that we DO want the movie, if the alternative is nothing, because they DON'T WANT TO MAKE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. It will only be an opportunity for Amazon to cancel it for good.

I know it's disappointing, I know it's only 1/3 of the original length, I know you feel sad, I understand, I really do, because I feel all of this as well! But PLEASE let's not throw away Pratchett's and Wilkins' efforts to have this episode, let's not throw away the fandom effort to have it! PLEASE do understand that the alternative of this one episode is not 6 but 0, I beg you!

If those petition are not going to be closed soon, Good Omens 3 will get canceled for good

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry for the situation, I know this show means a lot for a lot of people, and I'm one of them, and this is why I don't want to risk to destroy the possibility of having a finale

Think of what would happen if they'll cancel it again, think of what would happen if this time is our fault as fan, because of petition which started from us and not because of what some creep did, but because we wanted the impossible when we already had it. Because we had, this one episode is already the impossible

Hi there! I just saw this, and I'm here to say that I am not closing the petition.

I’m so sorry but absolutely none of this is backed up or sourced or anything. Like it’s logic, sure, but the fans making a petition is not gonna suede them one way or another, as we are not threatening amazon by saying we're going to boycott or anything in between. They either listen or they ignore it, it’s not gonna make them cancel it. The fandom isn't ungrateful kids asking their parents for more toys after already buying one. We are paying customers who are allowed to question decisions, and we are a dedicated fandom at that. They make more money by giving us what they originally promised, as it allows more merch, art, and attention to it. They have a good opportunity to return a show back to its fandom and the people who truly care about it, rather than giving the power to Gaiman. Because this isn't about him, it's about Terry. Always support the victims and remove Gaiman further from the show. There's ways within the Copyright laws to have it work.

Petitions don’t cancel shows, streaming services do. And the only times that a petition asking for more/different directly cause the cancelation of a show is if it’s too much demanding and/or too intense. A petition isn’t that. It’s simply a list of names that want something different. We are happy to wait longer to allow Good Omens to go the course that we were promised. We are not demanding something absurd. After a year of cancellations, we deserve some good and to remove it from Gaiman's hands.

If I get proper evidence or have someone who is apart of Crew / the production to tell me this is flying too close to the sun, I will take it down. But for now, I will cling to the hope that I have for the show Terry wanted, without having to be reshaped completely into 90 minutes.

Usually I would absolutely agree with you, but I think this situation is different:

Rhianna and Rob fought hard to have this 90 minutes, because the show was canceled because of a scandal, not because of founds, money, not enough viewers or things of this kind. Amazon is doing this practically as a favor, but if they think that we're not going to watch the movie because we want the series - i.e. if they think that they will lose more viewers than those they've already lost with the scandal - they'll just do the math and understand they'll lose money producing this movie. I think we should at least make it clear to Amazon that, if they eventually decide not to turn it back into a full season, we still will enjoy, love and, most importantly, watch the one episode they produce, the episode they're gifting to us, because at this point this is a gift.

Let me be clear: I understand why you're doing this petition, and I would love as well to have the whole season, I'm just afraid (and I'm not the only one) because Amazon, after all, just cares about money

(I also think that either they hurry up and decide now to change it back into a series or they'll lose the train, because managing to book 2 such famous actors in the same time frame is very hard, so either they shot in the period they're already booked or they most likely never will. But I don't know Tennant's and Sheen's agendas obv, so I might be very wrong)

I completely agree! I actually changed the petition slightly yesterday and added this bit after reading your post:

As for Tennant and Sheen, if the season is going to be completely renewed, it basically restarts the production cycle. We would be looking at filming sometime in late 2025/early 2026 if so, basically pushing it back a year. They love the show, and I'm sure something would be figured out.
