Debra L. Rothenberg Photography: There are some days that I wish I said “no” to a photo assignment. Today started as one of those days. I wanted to stay home in the morning and spend it with my husband and the boys, and spend with afternoon with 2 friends- one I haven’t seen in what feels like a bazillion years since she moved to the other coast. My assignment was the Elsie Festival in Coney Island- a whole day of singers and I only heard of one- Darren Criss from Glee. These are days that surprise me and I ended up having an amazing time. The talent was thru the roof today. There were “holy sh*t” moments constantly. And as i was leaving, I got to see Coney Island In all its glory with the sun setting on the boardwalk. I lived at the jersey shore for 17 years and Asbury park feels like a second home but I have to admit- there is something about Coney Island that makes me happy and makes me feel good.
