How do I draw landscape.
first.. I used to write down the elements I want to put inside my drawing.
And then, make the sketch.
The most important part in drawing a landscape is composition. I try to imagine myself as a photographer. I observe many photos and other scenery paintings and try to imagine the whole scenery, along with the character(s) inside it. Do not to diverge from your concept.
and so, this is my sketch
I have every elements I need.
Take note on how the clouds looked like, make sure they have the right perspective. I used this photo as reference.
But since mine is a night scenery, I used a dark colors on the clouds.
and then the process..
feeling a bit dull? browse more photos for references and/ or inspiration.
this one has the right mood and the toNES I need, now back to my canvas..
Now I got the right mood :)
tips: be patient on drawing your elements, dont get too rush on everything. and watch carefully for the colors.
This piece is almost finish, all I have to do is retouch the tone a little bit ;) but overall I finished with the process.
here is my brush setting for the clouds
make sure you do it on a different size of brushes.
I hope this has been a helpful post :)
