SUPERGIRL | S02E14 “Homecoming”
i FUCKING love kalex SO MUCH Hoky. F u cK F UCL
the longing, the co dependency, the cRUSHING desperation and readiness to die/throw themselves into danger if ANYTHING happened to the other. they had to ERASE alex memory of kara to GET HER A DATE. kara only jumped mong el bones cus alex was Too Busy Figuring Out She Was A Repressed Lesbian to pay kara any ATTENTION
idiots!!! idiots!!! i love them!!!
I love that during both eras of girlfriends Kara goes through angst at having to deal with losing her closeness with Alex in some way.
First girlfriend we see Kara going through it cause she wasn't used to not having ALL of Alex's attention. Second girlfriend she has to be told by J'onn that Alex has a separate life now cause Kara was trying to be there with Alex like nothing had changed lol.
Also, Alex going through existential crises when she thinks she's lost Kara forever. Breaking up with her first girlfriend as a result, and wanting to die while w/ the second girlfriend. Kara always being the last thing on Alex's mind when she think she's about to die.
Oh and the divorced moms drama they went through lol.
Not to mention the "blank slate" Kara clone having the name Alex (and the emotions that came with that name) ingrained in her. I seriously can't get over this.
Loving Alex is a part of Kara’s being as much as protecting Kara is a part of Alex's. Kara and Alex are a part of each other's DNA.
SUPERGIRL | S03E02 “Triggers”
Alex? Can I have another hug, please?
So, it seems all Valentines candy goes to 80% off after midnight.
stop, don’t cry. if you cry, I’m gonna cry, and then everybody here is gonna know that we actually can cry. alex, it would… it would be my honour.
They deserved so much more in the later seasons :(

I’ve known pain. But I’ve also known love.
SUPERGIRL (2015-2021)
The fact Kara didn't have more than one very short intimate scene with Alex in all of the final 2 episodes (& like 4 total in the entire last season), and then nothing else at the end, is exactly why this show took a nose dive after season 4. Not to mention that Kara’s character development was all lumped into a few scenes at the end of the final episode. If the season had truly focused on Kara I could almost forgive them the lack of Kara and Alex.
Their insistence on focusing on everything from the Luthors (especially them), random villains, guest characters, etc, instead of on Kara first & foremost, and then on the core relationship that started it all ruined this show. It lost its emotional core, it's heart.
For that reason I, unfortunately, have no problem saying goodbye to Supergirl. I'd love to say I'll miss Kara and Alex but I've been missing them for a while now. I just hope to see more of this cast in the future. Especially from Melissa and Chyler (together again would be a dream), Jesse, David, and Nicole.
A whole season with no Kara and Alex stories and the writers decide having them argue is the best way to give us kara/Alex content in the final 3 episodes?
Tptb want me to believe Alex wouldn't value Kara’s input on what an orphaned alien child would feel like when trying to figure out her powers? And that she would pull the stupid "it's my kid so butt out" instead of embracing & loving the fact that the "the most important person" in her life cares so much about her daughter & wants to be a part of her life?
Nah, they can keep that take. This me with the unnecessary drama last night
I'll just pretend they sat down & had in depth conversations about their childhood & how to best help Esme.
Intended to clean this up but there are too many things in the WIP folder so please enjoy a rough Danvers hug animation.
