When I was keeping up with ViJinx fics the tone of most was darker than my taste in fic is, very focused on non-con stuff, etc (I get some people like that but that's just not for me). I have no idea what's been produced in the past like half year or more but I'd like some AUs, I'm totally for fics that deal with the characters issues & the taboo aspect of the ship in nuanced ways but that don't get too dark. I'd love more romantic fics but that aren't too fluffy cause it doesn't fit ViJinx. I need an epic multi-chapter fic.

I haven't read any ViJinx fics in many many months. To be honest, I stopped because the kind of fics being written weren't really my cup of tea. There were two that I really liked but as far as I know haven't been updated and it's been so long I don't even remember the titles lol.

Yeah their chemistry is very strong and there are several moments where that chemistry doesn't feel totally platonic imo. For me that subtextual chemistry comes more from Jinx due to her unhealthy attachment and obsession with Vi. But I can totally see Vi developing conflicting emotions because of how Jinx behaves with her and also being obsessed with getting Jinx back. It's also been many years and the sister she left behind is completely different, practically non-existent in the person at present.

They are a very compelling and intense dynamic to watch in canon. A romantic interpretation gives the dynamic an even more complex and intriguing layer. Super interesting to disect and to ship.

It Is. I had never heard that song but it 100% is a ViJinx song. Thanks for the recommendation.

This one also. I'm a sap so I love these emotional songs and this one screams ViJinx to me.

I mean, they are sisters. But I think I get what you mean because there are other sibling ships that get a ton more. It may have something to do with the fact that Vi has a canonical female LI that people really like so many either don't catch the pretty blatant subtext (whether it's intentional subtext or not is a whole other discussion) or ignore it.

Coming off of a small ship prior to ViJinx I have a different outlook on their fan content. I find ViJinx gets a lot of fan art, way more than I'm used to getting for my small fandoms. We even have the running joke of the "accidental ViJinx" art because their dynamic really does inspire that type of vibe in fan art so, even when the fanart isn't meant to be explicitly romantic I still highly enjoy it. In terms of fanfic we definitely do get the short end of the stick.

Thanks anon. I have many Vi & Jinx thoughts that I'd love to share but always forget to do so. These asks give me reason to do it. So, if anyone has any other show &/or ViJinx comments/questions/thoughts they'd like to share with me please do, I'd love to read them.

Yeah, I mean, I think the canon reasoning behind her issue with Caitl*n makes total sense to me. But it also raises some questions when you realize that she didn't have any serious issues over Silco working with an Enforcer. The issue is that she realizes Vi has some emotional investment in Caitl*n. I do wonder if she would have been so against it if Sevika hadn't put in her head that Vi was replacing her.

Jinx knowing that Vi sees Caitl*n in a romantic light makes her jealousy a little suspicious, imo. It gives potential to additional interpretations, imo. If she was completely unaware of the romance bubbling between Ca*t & Vi then the purely platonic reading totally makes sense, but how did she even realize there was romance? From one hug seen from afar? One she tried desperately to convince herself was "just a goodbye hug." And if she realizes there's a difference, then why be so possessive? Ofc we could chalk it up to her mental illness and unhealthy attachment to Vi (& only Vi because we don't see the same level of attachment to anyone else) because of the level of trauma she's experienced since infancy along with her sister. But then, it can be argued that this could also lead Jinx's attachment on Vi to evolve into something that it shouldn't. Her obsession w/ her creates this lack of differentiation between platonic and romantic love. She just knows she wants Vi; she also wants Vi's full commitment, like when they were kids.

So basically, I see both the platonic canon reading but also the potential subtext. The subtext is pretty strong, imo. Anyone doubting that should go read the lyrics of "Our Love," which played over Vi & Jinx scenes, a love song that very much sounds romantic. It's also amusing how exactly Vi and Jinx's story parallels Catradora.

I'm very intrigued to see how s2 moves this love triangle forward (it is very much set up like a love triangle). Will the subtext subside or will it be amplified?

Are there people thinking she loves Caitlyn more? They've just met, no matter what the circumstances of their development, saying they're in love is a stretch at this stage. I can't believe that, then again I never imagined there'd be people hating Vi but defending Silco in regards to how they treat Jinx.

Anyway, Vi walked away from Cait at least once in each episode, and every time, it was for Jinx. Canonically, Caitlyn is the one pursuing Vi during season 1. Ofc Vi is pained to see what Powder has become and at times has lacked the ability to deal with things properly but Jinx/Powder is her priority. Since childhood, her driving force was finding a way for Powder to have a better life than the one she had. So to see her sister totally consumed by hate and extreme violence being her solution to things is jarring. But despite it all, she defended her the best she could until the final scene. And I am sure she'll continue to try to do what's best for Jinx, even if it's painful and Jinx fights her.

Jinx and Vi's stories revolve around each other. Neither is happy without the other, no matter what they will always yearn for the other. They are the most important people to each other.

"You're the reason I'm still alive"

This line hits way harder when you realize only a few hours earlier she practically committed suicide after Vi leaves her a second time.

We've speculated that Jinx was trying to commit suicide on the bridge scene but that line almost quite literally makes that speculation canon. I can't believe I hadn't made the connection earlier.

Hence the "Vi" on her neck 😭

Jinx's attachment/love/obsession to Vi is endearing and so heartbreaking. I love their relationship because they need each other. And it may seem like the attachment is one sided but it's not. Vi's entire season arc revolves around Powder/Jinx. We don't get to see Vi open up much but when she does it's always connected to Jinx in some way.

"I spent so many nights in that shitty prison, on that freezing floor hungry, bloody, counting the hours. The only thing that kept me going was the thought of getting back to you"
