Hi Hello Haia Helô

Thought it was about time for a pinned post! My name is Qwille (they/them) I'm a Welsh artist & writer currently languishing in the DCA fandom.

Please visit the Ghost in the Machine master post for FAQs on the project before you send me an ask!

You can find my main fanfic work on my Ao3, my focus is currently on writing Ghost in the Machine, a long-form DCA post-fire fic with multiple DCA animatronics! I often post drabbles and crumbs from my current work (which are tagged #qwillewrites ). Any of my art that I post here will be tagged #qwilledraws. When it comes to fanart I am not super prolific! Art is my day-job so I don't do as much of it in my down-time as I used to (for that same reason I'm not currently open to commissions, though thank-you beautiful people for the interest ). Most of all I'm here to make friends and be silly, so feel free to interact! (I promise I don't bite) > Ko-FI >

It's such an amazing feeling when someone picks up on something in your writing that you 100% intended but didn't think people would notice. Like, YES!! My writing properly conveyed the thing it was supposed to!!! You are so awesome for noticing that!!! I am so awesome for writing that!!! I feel so good about my story now!!!!

This is actually really interesting advice (and 100% true!)

I am in an art role where I regularly hire junior concept artists and one of the first things we look for is your ability to design interesting NPCs and background characters that feel thematic, support the story/worldbuilding, but very much are 'supporting' cast- not show stealers. It's a tricky thing to master, creating NPCs that sit well together and against the backdrop of a show/game- but inevitably, if you are a junior/entry level artist that is the kind of task you will be given more often than not! (That and prop design.) It's actually much harder to design NPCs than people think and a strong portfolio that shows you understand what's needed from a background character design really will stand out leaps and bounds over just another 'prettily rendered elf'.
