G1 Sideswipe
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe AU design commissions for @mariequitecontrary for their fic “A Spark’s Rhythm”
Rarely get to draw the lambros so this was fun! I love speedster jocks ☀️🌙🏎
Sunstreaker’s POV: The Life of Sideswipe
Or: Sunstreaker and his brother in 7 snapshots
Seeing Sunstreaker break down and grieve broke my heart and urged me to show how the twins are throughout canon storyline. This took so long to do but it was worth every second qwq
For all that I wish they had more brotherly-bonding moments together in the comic, I’m glad we at least got a genuinely emotional closure in OP #9. That last panel of Sunny saying he missed his bro in Unicron #6 is just- I’m fine :D I’m fINE-

G1 Sideswipe & Sunstreaker ✨
Sketch commission for Atsukamo123 on Twitter, thank you : )
sideswipe / sunstreaker goofy sibling dynamic is at least 25% of my brain at all times 😔
Wow. I’m blown away by this video. The art is amazing and it sums up my favorite moments from the IDW universe.
As a professional video editor, I also want to draw attention to the editing of this. The simplicity of editing art like this I think sometimes pulls your attention away because it isn’t “flashy” or “quick” editing, but it’s seriously well done, and the length of this means it took whoever made it a DAMN long time to do.
Seriously, bravo.
The boys are tired, let them sleep
Patreon voted characters for February’s print, thank you all!
Gonna get them printed off next week.
Heeeere’s my @secretsolenoid for @rayguntomyhead
I call it ‘The Moonball incident’, where the twins decided to play a game of bouncing giant Transformer sized moonballs around their quarters to try and hit each other only to find that Sunstreaker’s helm fins are not apparently rated for moonball damage.
So that’s a fun explanation Sideswipe is giving Ratchet, who is used to this kind of stuff and is glad that at least they both kept it to their quarters and also didn’t do more than inconvenient damage.
Hope you like it Raygun!
P.S for those who don’t know what moonballs are https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6gF3ZwOfBI
“Why do you read fantasy novels so much??” “The same reason Sideswipe watches porn; the suspension of disbelief. The wishful thinking that one day, it would happen to me.”
“The same reason Sideswipe watches porn; the suspension of disbelief. The wishful thinking that one day, it would happen to me.”
“Mean, Sunny.” Sideswipe said with a dramatic gasp, one hand clenched over his spark.
“Accurate.” His twin replied without an ounce of remorse.
“I just didn’t have you pegged as a reader, let alone a fantasy reader.” Perceptor said, oblivious to the growing looks of concern the other Autobots were shooting him.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Sunstreaker snapped, while Sides chortled over the word ‘pegged’ in the background.
The scientist tilted his head, thinking. “I suppose I just bought into the human idea of certain types of people reading certain types of books.”
“Being a judgy asshole isn’t strictly a human trait.” Sunstreaker continued to growl. Several mechs nearest them took a step back, out of what they hoped was the splash zone.
The energon splash zone.
Perceptor merely took the slam with a nod. He was no stranger to being made fun of for odd interests and knew instantly that was how the yellow twin was taking his line of questioning.
Apologizing would be futile–Sunstreaker would not believe it. So Perceptor took a different path.
“Do you have a favorite?” He asked.
“Favorite?” Sunstreaker repeated, with a tone that clearly indicated he was close to going for blood. Perceptor held firm.
“Fantasy book.” He said. Then added; “I am interested in reading one and would appreciate your recommendations.”
Sunstreaker just stared, optics drilling holes into Perceptors spark. Over his shoulder Sideswipe did much the same, though the red twin looked more confused and less murderous.
“You serious?” Sunstreaker asked finally.
“I think he is serious.” Sideswipe answered, optic ridge raised.
Perceptor tried to give both of them a flat stare at the same time and got a helmache for his efforts.
“I am serious.” He said.
And so began one of the most unlikely of friendships–as well as the unholy combination of science and stupidity.
