At this volume, your mind will only last for fifteen minutes. Thirty, if you're lucky. Now, admit that the War Chief sent for you!

I love that song. It's about Bonnie Prince Charlie. I know, it's sweet. Let's go. It's sweet, and it's sad. And it's about soldiers fighting. But it's sad, like a lullaby, and that's right, isn't it? Songs about soldiers should be sad, don't you think?

“There are some corners of the universe which have bred the most terrible things. Things which act against everything that we believe in. They must be fought.”
PATRICK TROUGHTON AS THE SECOND DOCTOR (1966-1969)
Sometimes I'll think about this scene and how sweet it is
Two hearts, stupid clothes, you can’t miss him.

@walks-the-ages requested Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart being bewildered and skeptical in The Three Doctors
So I just watched The Enemy of the World, which is the story where the Doctor is asked to impersonate an aspiring dictator who happens to look exactly like him
And it absolutely slapped and there's a million super fascinating things about it I've been rambling to my friends but the one that really really got me is the fact that it's very emphatically set in the year 2018, aka now a couple years ago
I am obsessed with this fact, I need some Doctor Who writer to pick up on it and bring it up. I need something like, the Doctor pulls out a bunch of pictures of their past selves to explain regeneration to the newest companion but then has to leave the room and leaves the pictures there and it's just like
Companion's supporting-cast family member or something: (walks in and sees the pictures) "Hey, who're these people?" Companion: "Oh, they're-" Supporting-cast family member: "Oh wait no I know this guy, he was on the news! Remember, that politician who turns out was keeping a bunch of slaves in an underground bunker? Killed a bunch of people?" Companion: "What?"
And then the companion tries to subtly bring it up around the Doctor to try and figure out if that was him without arousing suspicion but it just doesn't inspire confidence
Companion: "Hey, Doctor, you ever been involved in politics?" The Doctor: (having been the president of both Gallifrey and Earth) "Yeah, why"
