So about a year ago I did a little math and some rambling at a friend on how long before the events of PLA Prof. Laventon arrives in Hisui and I thought it’d be pretty funny to share it w some revisions here 🎉

The tree in Laventon’s lab is about like 6 rowlet tall minus roots

Rowlet is about 1 foot tall, making his tree around 6 feet tall.

Now take note of the size of the doors to Laventon’s lab in comparison to the tree

No way he brought that thing in recently. It’s waaayy too big to fit thru those doors. As the doors are around 6’8 because they are able to fit Volo (who is canonically 190 cm ((6’3)))thru those doors without him hitting his head. (and 6’8 is like the size of a standard door)

Now assuming this tree is growing at a moderate pace (19 inches per year) it would be about 4’5 a year before PLA. And the average man in the 1920s (will make a separate post for why I believe the game takes place then) is 5’6. So the tree might be slightly too big to carry thru a door so give it like 3 more months (4.75 less inches) when it’ll be roughly 4 feet and half an inch and then you can carry it thru that door pretty comfortably.

in conclusion:

Laventon gets to Hisui about a year and 3 months before the protagonist falls out of the sky 👍

I hate how after you defeat Volo literally no one cares about him, where he went and what the hell he's up to. Like, Ginkgo Guild?? Didn't you see one of your workers disappeared? Cogita why tf aren't you asking me what the hell happened after I left with Volo to Mt Coronet???

And we basically tell Professor Laventon that Volo turned out to be insane and left saying he's not gonna give up on his project and Laventon is just like "oh well" and that's it. Tf is wrong with Hisuiians???

Also lmao at the fact that during the final battle you can't get too close to Volo, he has an invisible wall surrounding him 😂

My favorite thing about Legends Arceus is when you fight Rei for the first time and he’s like “my partner is a really terrifying creature that won’t hesitate to kill” and the terrifying creature that won’t hesitate to kill in question is just a pikachu that goes :3 and lowkey hates him

pokémon game plots will forever be some of the wildest things to grasp for me. a bunch of environmentalists dressing up like pirates actually almost drown the world. oh yeah you can also dress up your pikachu in silly outfits and pick berries for them. jeff bezos creates a death laser using gods to try and destroy france. oh yeah you can also participate in cutsy pageants w your pokémon and yassify your poodle. meanwhile, in hawaii, aliens sent by your girlfriend’s abusive mom are trying to kill everything and many of them look like lovecraftian horrors. have fun surfing on manta rays though. meanwhile, in meiji era japan, you have to battle The Devil from The Bible TWICE because this loser who’s been Just There the whole game has religious trauma and wants to fistfight god. everything wants to KILL YOU and you’re getting paid minimum wage for groundbreaking scientific research. GOD from THE BIBLE gives you an iphone -11 reality is BREAKING NOW GO CATCH 20 BIDOOF AND THREE LAKE SPIRITS
