I have a question about your writing process. Do you write the script for each chapter as you go or did you plan out the entire story from the beginning?
To be quite honest, I just wing it! I write big portions and for a while i work off what I wrote in the script, and when i reach the end of my script or feel the mood to write again i just write more of it! however, it should be noted, I marked down specific events, occurances, personalities, plot points, major plot twists, and the ending, all of the script writing I do is basicalllly just to fill in the middles.
Also, I tend to ALWAYS go off-script when i’m writing, because when I write pre-planned jokes, I tend to overthink it and it turns out bad, however winging jokes makes them sound a lot more natural. A lot of dialogue also gets changed to make it sound more natural.
Writing it down, however, helps me to remember:
1. Spoken Quirks
-“F-Flowey’s stutter” (I always forget)
-Toriel not using contractions
2. Body language quirks-Chara holding thier hands close together
-Basing Justice’s perception of the world soley on hearing and other senses
3. Easter Eggs/ Foreshadowing
-you gotta find those yourselves my dude
- gifts from sans scattered across toriel’s home
I go off script a lot though, but the script basically serves to give me direction, adding small tidbits of new juicy info is fun, but not when I don’t have a script to guide it in a feasible and approriate time frame (a mistake I made in the napstablook fight arc).
That being said i have ONE chapter written out in it’s entirety already, for a very future date however.
