Pro! was the NFL-produced magazine doubling as programs for NFL games. Cover articles appeared in programs for various games in various cities sometime during the season.
This issue cover-featured Marvel characters illustrating an article on the NFL linebacker, associating different players with the characters: Dallas Cowboys’ Chuck Howley as Captain America, Kansas City Chiefs’ Bobby Bell as Dr. Doom, Green Bay Packers’ Dave Robinson as Black Panther, Green Bay Packers’ Ray Nitschke as the Silver Surfer, Atlanta Falcons’ Tommy Nobis as the Thing, Minnesota Vikings’ Lonnie Warwick as Thor, Houston Oilers’ George Webster as Iron Man, Chicago Bears’ Dick Butkus as the Hulk, Baltimore Colts’ Mike Curtis as Spider-Man.
