Wow is this ever a pretty page. Wood made this look amazing. I’m not sure I want to read this issue in color.

Hal Jordan appreciation
DC does not need 50 green lanterns for Sector 2814. It has the best 2, and it should stick with them. The absolutely fearless test pilot, and his partner the steady as a rock special forces operative turned architect. Every other green lantern from Earth annoys me.
some Black and White PinUps by @JimLee
Berni Wrightson: Hal Jordan
a PinUp from the Green Lantern Gallery, with Colors by John Kalisz.
Beyond his art, Neal Adams is rightfully remembered as an eternal champion of creators’ rights and for the part he & his work played in the Comics Code revision of ‘71 but his contribution to John Stewart’s creation is – I think – a rather underrated aspect of his career, especially as it’s such a great reminder of the kind of person he was. Taken from an interview conducted and transcribed by Allen W. Wright over at the Green Arrow: Bold Archer fansite, here’s Neal discussing John’s beginnings (x).
Forgotten masterpiece: Complete original art by Denny O’Neill (story), Neal Adams (pencils) and Bernie Wrightson (inks) from Green Lantern #84, published by DC Comics, June 1971.
I don’t normally like to post stories this long (for a number of reasons), but this one was too good NOT to share. Sadly, this is the only time (to my knowledge) that Adams and Wrightson ever worked together.
RIP
