On the Deer thing.

I live and work on a Midwest farm. We grow corn and soybeans. Wheat is grown in the area as well.

If you are a vegan and you eat soy or vegan anything… the farmers that grow it have killed deer in order for you to tell yourself that no animals were harmed. They are that much of a problem. The plastics in Tupperware and ziplock bags are partially made with oils derived from Soy and Corn. It is unavoidable.

You will spend more money and time avoiding soy and corn products than you can possibly fathom. And on top of the constantly changing governmental regulations that affect the farming industry, deer hunting is getting more expensive by the day. Killing a deer with a bow costs about $60.00 a shot. And we are helping you. You ungrateful, self-righteous motherfuckers. We tagged 65 deer last year and donated almost 400 lbs of processed ground meat to the local shelter. And still we are demonized.

This is the basic premise: the Midwest is the cradle of farming for Western Civilization. Period. Whitetail Deer are so enormously overpopulated that none of you would enjoy a loaf of bread or a soy latte if people like me and my neighbors didn’t do everything we can to control the population. By killing Deer. I have never met a farmer that likes Deer.

meat from Wild Game tends to be much healthier, not to mention significantly less expensive than store bought “organic” meat.

All meat is organic. Organic means it comes from something living. So, labeling meat as 100% organic is like labeling cheese as 100% real cheese.

Weird that they make a point of mentioning it, right?

Unfortunately, it is a necessity in this day and age.

My solution? Learn to hunt and cook wild game. It tastes sooo much better too.

It’s funny actually a friend of my brother brought us some venison just last week, and it did taste so much better than anything from the store, been craving more since then. And what you said about organic comes from something living is right on the ball, people love to eat burgers/hot dogs/ all kinds of meat, they just don’t wanna think about/see where it comes from.

I will spare the squeamish the gruesome details, but I prepared every aspect of the deer meat myself. Took about 2 hours, and the Deer dressed out at 200lbs. Hard work with a delicious payoff.

Hunting with a bow and arrow requires a LOT more patience and practice than it does with a gun. It took me 7 days of morning and night hunting before I even had a Deer in bow range.

I hate that "organic" food is higher priced than everything else. Seriously. Pisses me off. I hate that Doritos, McDonalds, Coca Cola, and all of the crap that makes Americans fat is so readily available and sooo much cheaper than the stuff that tastes better and is better for us. It sucks.
