Salvador Larocca’s original cover art for X-Men # 182.

Unfortunately, Peter Milligan’s “Blood of Apocalypse” sucked (IMHO), and Larocca has yet to explore coloring his own art since that story arc. X-Men went on to be Mike Carey’s book that lead to Messiah Complex, and Larocca went on to do Iron Man with Matt Fraction.

Seriously. The whole Blood of Apocalypse arc was filled with Larocca doing inkwash and grayscale painting work. Beautiful artwork on a terrible and unpopular storyline.
