Batman Returns
so I just rewatched this movie on demand. I had not seen it since I had it on VHS. this might be the most Tim Burton movie I have ever seen. it is campy, dark, weird, and has a lot more nods to the Adam West era than I remembered. it is actually pretty good. it is really weird, and the plot is a lot less important than the set design, but it is definitely worth watching.
it bears noting that an army of rocket propelled, heavily armed penguins play an important part of the film.
Of course they were, because Tim Burton.

OK, I love this trio but my God is this accurate.
Unbeknownst to most people (but, naturally, knownst to me) Tim Burton’s “Mars Attacks!” is a love story: Pharaoh Jim Brown quit his job as a bouncer/entertainer in a Vegas casino, and then he fist-fought Martians from Vegas to DC, just so he could get back together with Pam Grier.

This is one of my favorite films. Ever.
As you can see: I'm a lot happier! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Gentlemen, let’s broaden our minds!
Watch this flick again. Nicholson considers it his best performance, and he might be right. Also, Prince did the soundtrack. Shut up. I KNOW Dark Knight was better. I KNOW this was flawed. Just watch it again.
This is Tim Burton's best film. It's like his personal love letter to Hollywood counter-culture.
