*Tim Bradstreet and Thomas Jane have been friends for a while now, and Tim now regularly uses Tom as the model for a lot of the artwork he creates.
some Black and White artwork by Tim Bradstreet.
Tim’s work is a mixture of traditional comic book artwork and photography. He is an accomplished, published photographer in his own right. He also prints the photographs and draws directly onto the printed work, creating his unique blend of photo realism and sketchy heavy-black drawings. Not all of these were photographs, but - for example - he has a lengthy friendship with the model he used for the Punisher covers. And he is also a long time friend of Thomas Jane.
I wanna see if anyone can find the original because 100% this is just a filtered photo like there’s nothing even to prove it just clearly is, and on top of that it’s supposed to be a tribute the paramedics on 9/11 from Marvel’s Heroes (2001), and while I’m willing to listen to arguments for tracing this is truly just scumbag moves, no way that took him (Tim Bradstreet) more than 30 minutes to make
Except this is kind of Tim Bradstreet’s style. He does line drawings over photographs. It’s not really tracing, and he’s the only one that does it. His Punisher covers, for example, where all done in this style and he was praised for it. I’m not gonna sit here and tell you that a photorealistic painting of this same quality is not much more labor intensive - it is.
But criticizing Tim Bradstreet for drawing like Tim Bradstreet is kinda weak, dude.
Here, a promotional artwork from still photographs of Thomas Jane as the Punisher:
This what Tim Bradstreet does. He’s a photographer and a graphic artist, and he mixes both mediums for his comic book artwork.
For the record, it’s entirely possible that Tim took the original photograph of the first responders, and then printed the photograph and drew over his own photograph. That’s very much so his style and process.
