And you can read all about it in that Entertainment Weekly article I just linked to! I’m super excited for this, and so stoked he was able to come on board. The issue - #26, out next month - is about Doreen making all her superpowered friends write comics for a zine she’s pulling together. And Jim Davis is making Galactus’s OWN AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL COMICS come to life.
Here’s an excerpt from the article!
“When you look at the Silver Surfer, he’s 75 percent of the way there anyway with Jon, all we had to do is give him the big eyes. That was a natural. John kind of hangs around Garfield anyway, he’s the straight man to Garfield’s gags and has to get him food. He’s like Garfield’s herald. Galactus was tougher. We were throwing stuff back and forth, and the initial sketches just weren’t working for Galactus. I said okay, we gotta make him fat. The guy eats planets, for god’s sake! Once we do that, it’s a little less Galactus but certainly a lot more Garfield. It looked more natural. Obviously, Galactus has put on a few mega-tons for this strip.”

1 - It’s practice
2 - He’s holding back and not using his claws or his superior physical abilities.
3 - He could have stabbed her in the spine several times.
4 - When he blocked that hit he could have taken her arm off with his claws.
5 - How is that in anyyyyy way a win for her?
6 - Squirrels on my avengers? It’s more likely than you think.

10 - Squirrel Girl became an Avenger before Ghost Rider, Black Bolt and a load of X-Men.
Iron Fist is the best hand to hand fighter in the marvel universe. If you disagree then you probably have him 2nd or 3rd. Wolverine is probably top five. Definitely top ten. He just doesn’t use his fighting skills often and usually just stabs people. I wouldn’t even have Doreen in the top 50.
Squirrel Girl should stay in the pages of her own book where she can be super quirky and talk to her squirrels to her hearts content.
Nope. Sorry. Opinions are opinions, but what’s on the actual page cannot be disputed. Wolverine defeated Iron Fist and was himself defeated by Squirrel Girl. Hence, Doreen is the top fighter in the Marvel Universe.
Suck it, fan boys and girls… Squirrel Girl is unbeatable.

Squirrel Girl’s plot armor is just a tad bit ridiculous sometimes.
Yes. Completely ridiculous. She’s a silly character and her book is a lot of fun. Arguing over who she could beat or be defeated by in a fight is equally silly. It doesn’t matter. I like North and Henderson’s book quite a bit, but it seems that those who don’t go all sour grapes about it… But whatever eat nuts, kick butts, right?
The whole point of Squirrel Girl is that she is ridiculously amazing.
She is unbeatable.
She is the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.
That is what makes her awesome. Deal with it.
