“Galactus has Fallen”, by Simone Bianchi.
This was done for one of the Marvel Flair card sets.
Simone Bianchi was commissioned to recreate the cover for Spawn # 1, originally by Todd McFarlane and Ken Steacy.

Simone’s storytelling is at times convoluted. His page layouts are gorgeous, but they’re designed to be aesthetically pleasing, not narratively coherent. He’s getting better at storytelling, to be sure. Meanwhile, his production speed has limited him to cover and pinup work. He did a trading card set for Marvel, and his Millarworld book is - I think - still being published.
That’s the downside. The upside is that a classically trained, Florentine Style figure artist regularly draws superhero comics. Some of the prettiest figure work that you’ll ever seen. Like pages from Michaelangelo’s sketchbook in costumes.
Simone Bianchi - The Dark Knight
Interesting seeing Simone try to homage someone else’s style. He’s done layout homages, but I’ve never seen him try to blend his style with an homage to another artist’s signature work.
His anatomy is so strong that it’s kind of odd seeing him try to make a cartoonist’s take look realistic. And yet it oddly works rather well.
the Astonishing X-Men, by Simone Bianchi.
these were created with the intent of being used as interlocking variants for Astonishing X-Men #s 25-30, but they wound up on the cutting room floor. I think he sold them as signed prints for a while afterwards.

the Thunderbolts, Vol. 1 # 110 Second Printing Variant was illustrated by Mike Deodato, Jr., with Colors by Richard Isanove.
the cover that Mike created was also used as the layout template for the Young Guns Variant covers that were released with each of the first 6 issues of the story arc.
From the Top: -Leinil Francis Yu illustrated Venom, published as a Variant Cover for Thunderbolts # 110.
-Ariel Olivetti illustrated Bullseye, published as a Variant Cover for Thunderbolts # 111.
-Pasqual Ferry illustrated Penance, published as a Variant Cover for Thunderbolts # 112.
-Billy Tan illustrated Songbird and the Swordsman, published as a Variant Cover for Thunderbolts # 113.
-Clayton Crain illustrated Radioactive Man, published as a Variant Cover for Thunderbolts # 114.
-and Simone Bianchi illustrated the Green Goblin and Moonstone, published as a Variant Cover for Thunderbolts # 115.
Richard Isanove colored all of these, and I found the combined version/poster at the back of the hardcover that reprinted this Warren Ellis-scripted series.
If you have never read the Warren Ellis/Mike Deodato Thunderbolts, you absolutely should. It was the best 12 issues in the history of that title
