*Marc has used a studio of Inkers since he formed Top Cow in the late ‘90s. Most of the artists that came up through Top Cow got their start in comics by Inking, Finishing, and doing backgrounds for Marc Silvestri. Marc is using the John Buscema method - he will probably do finished pencils for splash pages like this one, and he will probably do facial expressions and things that require more detail. Panels with fights and multiple characters will probably be less refined and left to his studio to finish. Marc was never particularly quick at producing, he famously lied about how long it took him to produce the pinups in the portfolio of work he shopped around to get hired by Marvel in the first place.*

this miniseries covers the last 4 days that Frank Castle spent in Vietnam, and it established the origin of the character for the Marvel MAX series. if you are a Punisher fan and you have not read this series, you need to change that. suffice it to say that this series was absolutely fantastic, and every single issue earns the ‘mature readers’ rating at least twelve times over.
