“Running Free”, live in 1980.
RIP to Iron Maiden’s original lead singer, Paul Di’Anno.
RIP to the best hitter in Baseball history.
Pete Rose had 4256 hits in his career as player. He is the All-time MLB Hits leader.
For Comparison:
-Ty Cobb had 4189 (#2 all time).
-Hank Aaron had 3771 (#3).
-Barry Bonds, the most dominant offensive player of the steroid era of Baseball? He’s not even in the top 30 of all time. He had 2935. (#37).
Pete Rose also had some, well, some demons. He gambled on baseball games he was involved in, and then repeatedly lied about it. And because of that, the greatest hitter to have ever swung a bat is not in Cooperstown.
For the record, and if my voice counts, Rob Manfred is being a fucking bitch.
Rob Manfred is a nerd that never achieved greatness, so he spent his life studying greatness. And he got to the point where he could pass judgment on someone that achieved more than him.
And it feels good for Rob to be able to deny Pete Rose. It makes Rob Manfred feel big to make Pete Rose small.
Every MLB game in memory has advertisements for Sports Betting. It’s a game of numbers and statistics.
Pete Rose took advantage of his position and his ability to the play the game. He did that crime 40 years ago, and he’s apologized for it ever since.
Wanna know who Rob Manfred is? He’s nobody. He hasn’t accomplished a fucking thing. He’s a baseball fan. He can’t play. He can’t coach. All he can do is watch and judge his betters.
Ian McKellan’s Maggie Smith impression is solid gold.
“Dame Maggie Smith’s Oscar Predictions”
Maggie Smith’s sass made this show.
Dikembe Mutombo was arguably the greatest shot-blocker in NBA history. But his playing career was dwarfed by his humanitarian work. Truly a beautiful human being that used his time as professional athlete to fund his quest to make the world a better place.

Some more John Cassaday artwork in black and white.
John had a natural inclination towards these kinds of shots. He naturally drew the most dramatic version of any given scene. He had a great, clean design sense. 52 is way too young to lose a guy like him.
some John Cassaday in black and white.
John Cassaday passed today, September 9 2024.
I saw John at the Baltimore Comic Con 2-3 years in a row, and I spoke with him briefly at both the NYCC while we were both milling around the Marvel area, and at Wizard World Philly at the Bar.
John was soft spoken, reserved, polite, and above all he was observant and kind.
Comics lost one of our best today. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
He was only 52.
