Cover of the Day: Avengers #144 (February, 1976) Art by Gil Kane
I edited and put all the photos in order.
Avengers, Vol. 1 # 144 by Gil Kane, with Inks by Frank Giacoia, Colors by Petra Goldberg, and Lettering by Denise Wohl
Original Art - Thor #235 Pg 01 (1975) by John Buscema And Joe Sinnott
Original and final cover art by Gil Kane (breakdowns), John Buscema (finished art) and John Romita Sr. (embellishments) for Conan the Barbarian #46, published by Marvel Comics, January 1975.
Incredibly, this may be the only time all three great artists worked on the same piece. I’m not sure who the colorist was (possibly Petra Goldberg, who did the interior colors), but the work on Shokkoth is also beautiful.
This is an example as to why I love reading Conan.
The stories are a bit repetitive after the first 100 issues or so.
The artwork though. You will not see better Bronze Age artwork than the stuff that appeared in Conan. Every artist that worked on it just continually brought their A-Game for that book, month in and month out.
Dr.Strange; Master of the Mystic Arts #6 by Steve Englehart,Gene Colan,Klaus Janson,Petra Goldberg and Tom Orzechowski; cover by Frank Brunner
