Give her a skirt like Hyppolyta. Please. Imagine if a 6’5” supermodel walked into a police station wearing nothing but a strapless swimsuit and thigh-highs. She’d be starting at a disadvantage. Any questions she had would need to be preceded by awkwardness. Just dress her like a Greek Warrior. It’s not that freaking hard.

Another note: Orion has always been an ass. She shoulda removed his balls. He’s Darkseid’s son. His balls would only produce Darkseid’s Grandchild. Just castrate him.

Ideal world - she shouldn’t NEED a skirt to be respected and not to be “starting at a disadvantage”.

Real world - yes, so true. I really cannot fathom why - when so much of the alternate media has her wearing pants/skirts - they haven’t done this yet.

Conclusion - I don’t think she’d be disrespected in the DC Universe if WW turned up in a police station wearing her present outfit, so as much as it seems incongruous perhaps she doesn’t need to wear the skirt in her comic, which is set in the DCU? She wears skirts in other media perhaps because they have less history with her and so less familiarity means she WOULD be disrespected for having/showing thighs? On one hand, she should get equal respect when she wears full plate mail as when she’s wearing a g-string and flesh-coloured pasties. On the other, IRL she would not. Which do we wish to portray in our superhero comics? Does our fantasy storytelling need to reflect our own inadequate world, or should it portray a more ideal society?

I meant no offense with the skirt remark. I actually feel she should dress like a Greek Warrior, with armaments given to her by Haephestus. That was my reasoning, not some sort of '50s nostalgia. And I agree that she should not need to wear any outfit in order to appease people. Unfortunately, the real world is full of jerks. I think Comics have a responsibility to portray heroes as what they should be: heroes, examples, and beacons of hope.

It sucks that a woman in bathing suit would probably get cat-called if she went into a police station, I agree. But the reality is that she probably would. Because the world has high percentage of jerks.

That's how you know it's true. People like to ridicule, joke about, or avoid things like this. Comedians are popular because it is cathartic to point out our shared failings.

I also think that if men are going to continue to write laws attempting to legislate a woman’s body, I think that a law should be instituted where any man convicted of sexual assault is castrated before going to prison. Not chemical castration, either. I think if that went hand-in-hand with every single Anti-Abortion Law, things would change rather quickly.

If you have a problem with my opinions on this matter, I suggest that you remind yourself of some crucial facts:

-As of 2012, the Gender Ratio for the United States of America is 1.05 Women for every Man.

-There are more Women than Men in our own country, and the same trend is mostly true worldwide.

-Women make up around 50-52.5% of the population, and they control 100% of the wombs.

Given the above information, I find a profound lack of intellect or forethought in Abortion Legislation.

This is also why I despise reality TV: Most people in the world need to be edited before being given a public forum. Yes, they do. Me included (see my first statement). Today is a day that will go down in history as a monumental one in the battle for equal rights. Brad and I are thrilled at the huge step the SCOTUS has taken, though there is still far to go.
