"She is not a bird" - Hvitserk x Reader

SUMMARY: In Eddas, every great warrior falls in love with a Valkyrie - a winged goddess equally beautiful and imposing. Hvitserk finds his after a battle as she's stitching wounds and bringing comfort to those who will not see another dawn.

WORDCOUNT: ~ 2k

In a colourful dress, she busses around, Time and time she turns her head, gives a smile, You could swear you saw her wings yesterday, How she hid them under the dress, But she’s not a bird, Can’t you see? She is not a bird.

Hvitserk has no interest in medicine or healing. Despite that, he has found himself watching one of the healers as she’s running back and forth between beds. She’s been at it for hours now and Hvitserk begins to wonder how come she’s not tired yet. Her feet and hands are equally quick as they had been when they arrived at the camp after the battle. The mesmerising glint in her eyes, something between curiosity and adoration, is still just as bright. Whenever one of the wounded warriors wants to talk to her, she sits at the edge of their bed. Her head nods gently before her lips curl into a reassuring smile and she says something in return. Maybe she’ll even chuckle at something. From where he’s standing, Hvitserk can’t make out her words but he can quite clearly see the faces of the people she’s talking to and it makes his curiosity consume him entirely to know what words turn agony into peace.

Lost in his own thoughts, the young Viking doesn’t notice jarl Friedgeir approaching him.

"A hammer and an anvil" - Hvitserk x Reader

<I just wrote the dialogue, liked it a lot and wanted to make it into something ok? T_T>

SUMMARY: You're the daughter of a foreign jarl who hasn't chosen sides in the war of young Lothbroks. Neither can you. The consequences would be far-reaching and dire. However, your will is not as strong as your father's and should Hvitserk ask, you know the guilt will not stop you from being by his side. The question is: will he?

WORDCOUNT: ~ 1k

People call that arrangement by different names: between the Devil and the deep sea, between a hammer and an anvil or between a rock and a hard place. No matter where the point actually is, Hvitserk is there. And it shows.

Has he made the right choice siding with Ivar? Was the choice ever his to make? What if Ivar, desiring your father's great army, whispered a few sweet words into your beloved's ear?

You're watching him stare at the ceiling in your hut. For the first time since you've met him, Hvitserk's eyes are vacant. Normally shining with mischief and his merry persona, now they're empty. Dead. He starts to feel like somebody else.

"Finnish polka" - Ivar the Boneless x Reader

SUMMARY: After helping one of the northern Jarls, the Lothbrok brothers attend a celebratory feast. There, they're faced with a tradition of warriors catching flower crowns that belong to young women. How surprised Ivar is when you almost shove your crown into his hands.

WORDCOUNT: ~ 2.1k

Enjoying my work? You can leave me a tip on Ko-Fi

Ivar is tired.

Of course he's glad that Jarl Thorstein came out victorious. And that his brothers are fine. Still, he feels weary as the adrenaline leaves his body. His legs start to ache. Ivar downs the rest of his mead in hopes it makes him a little more deaf to his mood.

The upbeat, bright music fills his mind like an obsessive thought. His heart beats to the rhythm tapped by the feet of dancing women. They spin, jump and run around with flower crowns sitting atop their heads. How the wreaths remain immovable, he can't quite say.

Ivar is also angry.

Vikings preference: your friend hits on you and gets aggressive

Ragnar Feels genuinely hurt because he thought he could trust your friend. Whenever Ragnar went away, he'd ask your friend to keep an eye on you and generally make sure you're safe and sound. Makes veiled threats and passive-aggressive jokes at first, hoping that he can both force a boundary and not sour any relationships but his humour is gone when he realizes that your friend is not keen on taking no as an answer. If you raise your concern about "safety vs. keeping a friend", Ragnar makes a sarcastic comment about your sentiment - because a guy who forced himself on you is such a great friend to keep, right?

Gives you a knife to keep on you at all times. If you have the guts, and such an occasion arises, to stab the man once he gets physical with you, Ragnar will have your back no matter what. Also, low-key thrilled. But if you don't end up fighting your own battles, he'll gladly do it for you. Not an ounce of regret on his face during or after.

🙌🙌🙌🙌 Just read the one you did for me and holy shit, you are such a good writer 😭❤❤ now if it is okay I am going to do angst or on the verge of angst. One with the ragnarsson family ( both female and Male, maybe even ragnars brother if that is okay?). Their reaction if you got seriously injured maybe even dies when they left their house/town for like an raid??? ❤❤❤

Vikings preference: You get injured while they're gone

Ragnar On the outside, he appears relatively calm and collected, asking you what exactly happened. Once he makes sure you're alright in general terms, he goes out to search for whoever did this to you. Tells them that if they have a dispute with him, they could have simply talked to him but now that they have committed to a violent way, Ragnar challenges them to a duel. Fairly obviously, he wins but decides to spare the offender and instead of taking their life, he takes one of their limbs. Having children with him wouldn't really influence his actions, only the severity of his anger and the damage he does to the culprit.

Avatar

Hello ❤❤ can you write something for the ragnarson family( vikings, both female and Male please) where the reader and them are together and somebody breaks into their house while they (as in not the reader) are injured and the reader defend them. You can decide if you want to go either an angst route or an happy route 🙏❤

Avatar

Vikings preference: You try to defend them

Ragnar: Numerous times he has fought while theoretically incapacitated, so what made you think that this time was going to be anything different? When you grab the nearby axe in a futile attempt to fend off the trespassers, he yanks it out of your hand and fights in his own name. Afterwards, he'd be one to mock you: you never did learn to fight so what were you expecting was going to happen? Despite that long rant of showing you how irresponsible you were, the moment he's fully recovered and back on his feet, Ragnar will surprise you with a spar, beginning a long process of him teaching you how to properly fight. And making fun of your inability to do so yet but it's all in good faith - it's just his humour.

Hello there :) please could I request something for Vikings with a female reader if possible. Where the reader (a shieldmaiden) meets the ragnarssons for the first time after being taken in by Ragnar when her parents are killed, and they start developing feelings for her later on? 💙

Hey! Thought that making this into headcanons/preferences would be the best format, message me if you want a full work where I elaborate!🌺

Imagine going for walks in the woods with Ubbe.

Asking Ubbe to come with you for a walk became more of a habit than an invitation with time - you asked although both of you knew perfectly well he wasn't going to reject the offer. For a good hour, he had you all to himself, away from the distracting hum of Kattegat's bustling life.

We have hit 500 in our little snake den (damn, half of a thousand) and I'm not sure how to express my gratitude. Thank You so much! This blog I have started as a small side-gig, something to practice my writing and I'm very glad that my work has sparked Your interest and, most of all, enjoyment.

For this occasion, I have gathered some song lyrics and made them into writing prompts for Your requests (How to make a request?). I have also made the list into a Spotify playlist!

  1. "I don't feel like arguing tonight with you."
  2. "Do you have enough love in your own heart to go and get your hands dirty?"
  3. "Your future's lost but they can't take your past."
  4. "You're not alone, in case you're wondering."
  5. "I've been laying all night, waiting for your call."
  6. "You're the only prayer I need to make me feel blessed."
  7. "I still got a whole lotta love for you."
  8. "If you need a little help, put it on me."
  9. "Your smile could light up New York City after dark."
  10. "I don't want to rest in peace, we can haunt each other's dreams."
  11. "We're not that different, you and I."
  12. "What's gonna be left of the world if you're not in it?"
  13. "Just listen to your friends, they only care and hope you're alright."
  14. "I was scared, now I'm honest."
  15. "You're the start and end of my own desire."
  16. "Who said you're one in a million anyway?"
  17. "I'm not so brave and I'm not so smart."
  18. "Trust me, this is the moment I've been waiting for all my life."
  19. "Where do you run when you need to breathe?"
  20. "Did you think that I would let you crawl right back into my bedroom?"
  21. "I crumble completely when you cry"
  22. "That bloody mary's lacking in tabasco"
  23. "Text me when you're free."
  24. "You look like you've been for breakfast at the heartbreak hotel."
  25. "You call it karma, I call it bad luck instead."
  26. "Is it love? Or are we just craving attention?"
  27. "Do you like the person you've become?"
  28. "Some things just make sense and one of those is you and I."
  29. "I can hear your pulse racing from here."
  30. "I will never understand the power you are holding over me."
  31. "Tell me a piece of your history that you're proud to call your own."
  32. "These streets are yours, you can keep them."
  33. "Don't listen to your friends, see the despair behind their eyes."

UNDISCOVERED HORIZON - THE MASTERLIST

Enjoying my work? You can leave me a tip on Ko-Fi

The ceiling of the library was high enough to be beyond your sight. Your steps echoed through the empty, marble halls. Tall bookshelves have dust gathered on them, covering the backs of books probably older than humanity. Sunlight fell into the Hall through the gaping hole in the ceiling, making patches of moss even more deliciously green. A small, beautifully copper, red fox looked at you from behind a shelf and spoke in the softest voice you have ever heard:

Rest your weary feet, Little Wanderer. The Old Gods have been keeping their eyes on you ever since you stepped into this library, no eldritch malice shall reach you here. And while you rest, Little Wanderer, would you like to hear a story?

Its small head motioned to the old, brass plaque on the side of a shelf. Each of the arrows had a numerical interval and a name assigned:

Maybe some music for the reading, Little Wanderer?

Or perhaps there is a story the Librarian doesn't have? Tell me, and I'll make a request immediately.

Imagine being a witcher and an old friend of Bjorn. In need of help, your path leads back to Kattegat, years after you've last seen your friend. - Part 4

Author's note: I got so blocked and stuck this took me good 4 days of staring at the screen to finish. I suppose too much physiology causes brain fog or smth

The boy was speaking very slowly, slurring his words as fever sweat run down his templates. His lips were quivering, making it even harder to speak coherently. (Y/N) nodded her head attentively and asked some more questions to keep the kid talking. In the meantime, she was chewing more swallow herb and ripped off a strip of material off her shirt, and started to wrap it around the boy's leg to stop the bleeding. She told Bjorn to fetch the boy's father and a healer, which the man didn't even dare question: there was a certain seriousness to the witcher that made one compliant even unwillingly.

"I do not wish to ask for much, as I hold no right to do so. However, I'm afraid I have to use your hospitality. The man I'm tracking is dangerous and skilled, to be sure he won't come back again, I'm going to need another pair of hands." Here (Y/N) looked at Bjorn. She didn't even have to ask him for help, the moment she entered the hall he was already prepared to agree to a general majority of possible requests she might have. "If it's not too much to ask for, I would need a place to stay until the deed is done. A small corner will suffice, I would hate to impose on you."

Author's note: I should be studying physiology... Anyway, thinking of a name for the may-be series. "A fiendish scheme"?

”I also have a fiend's head, thought someone might pay me for it”

Bjorn let out a low chuckle. The way she talked about killing monsters always amazed him - she made it seem so easy, so common. He was fully aware that it was something she's been doing for the majority of her life, thus growing accustomed to the novelty that her occupation was. Not to mention, there weren't many witchers in Europe in general, for a plethora of reasons. It could be compared to a rare pearl growing familiar to its uncommon shine and color.

”Please, have a seat,” he said. ”Ubbe, Hvitserk, come inside too.”

Imagine being a simple girl living in Kattegat. It seems as if Lady Luck is always on your side: people never bother you, there's always enough food in your pantry, the traders always offer you good prices. Rumor has it, you have a guardian angel in the form of a prince head over heels for you.

Most people would call it an open secret: something that is, commonly, well known but not publicly acknowledged. Others would simply call it a rumor, as they did not believe the story they were told, be it jealousy or skepticism. Either way, no matter whether someone believed it or not, pretty much every set of ears in Kattegat has heard about prince Ubbe's infatuation with a regular girl.

Imagine being on the run after Ivar's triumph. You try your best to be a rock for Ubbe to lean on, as you have loved him for a long time. Unfortunately, respecting his marriage and his wife, you remain silent about your affections and only make sure you can do your best to help him out.

Ubbe was sitting stooped on a big rock. His place was fortunate enough that Marghrete couldn’t see him in the darkness. Night breeze swayed his long hair and an arista of grass his fingers fiddled with. His vibrant blue eyes seemed a little sadder tonight. Sometimes he would look up and lock his troubled expression on the horizon as if he was waiting for someone to come. After few minutes his eyes would be again glued to the grass he held.
