Lauren Hissrich hasn't been active on social media since long before the news. Pretty much since season 2 came out and she let herself be dragged into discussions with fans too much. Definitely long before the recent news.

Yeah I did notice that as well, but I figured since this news is so big and the show is meant to be her baby she might’ve said something, or even maybe retweeted what Netflix said. She’s probably known about it for a little while, although, the way they announced it seemed kind of abrupt to me?

I dunno, all I know is what I’ve seen posted so I’m just theorising and seeing what other people think, not trying to say that her lack of response necessarily means anything cause it might not, it just seems odd that the showrunner wouldn’t have anything to say regarding such a huge change to her show, given how active she’s been with other big announcements regarding the show.

Okay so here’s my take on the Geralt recast that nobody asked for:

We all know that Henry is a stickler for being faithful to the source material, something that, as much as I love the series, the writers tend to not really do. So maybe the reason he’s leaving is because of clashing with the writing team/Lauren/Netflix themselves. With all the stuff coming out about the writers not caring about the source material, and even making fun of it, clashing can be expected.

It could also be because he’s coming back as Superman, and the Bond rumours are circling again, so maybe scheduling conflicts are happening, or he’s following what will make him the most money (although I don’t believe that, given how passionate he is about Geralt). The way that it’s been done gives off the impression that he’s been pushed out.

My main worry is this. No matter how good Liam Hemsworth might be, or how well he manages to adapt to the role, he’s not Henry Cavill. Say what you like about the Netflix series, but the casting is great and Henry is a very popular choice. Because of this, people won’t want to watch it without him. Which will drag the viewer numbers down.

And we all know what Netflix does to shows that don’t perform as expected. Even if it gets millions of views and ends up in the top 10 like it usually does, Netflix is known for cancelling perfectly good and popular shows because they have a slight dip.

I’m worried about the recast, but I’m more worried that it’ll be what kills the show completely.
