Larsson & Jennings to Debut Luxury Automatic Collection

While we’ve long adored Larsson & Jennings‘ minimalistic watches, they always fell between the range of affordable and luxury, not beyond. The Anglo-Swiss brand’s roster of timepieces were just premium, satisfying fans of modern design with quality time tellers that didn’t break the bank. An easy $360 would get you the Larsson & Jennings Lader, and the Saxon, the label’s most expensive piece thus far, costs $600.

But with an upcoming collection which the brand deems its “most important launch to date,” Larsson & Jennings is targeting a higher-end consumer. The Automatic Series, the watchmaker’s first-ever mechanical watches, “signals the business move into a luxury price point and category,” tells the brand. Each watch from the collection will retail at approximately over $1,500.

Apple Watch Reported to Have Low Energy "Power Saving" Mode

Follow battery life concerns with the Apple Watch, the tech giant has reportedly developed a feature called Power Reserve — a mode that will keep the watch running on scant power. The innovative company’s new development will allow the watch to run on low energy, displaying only the time. Additionally, the smartwatch will use induction battery replenishing technologies, following experiments with solar technology and other methods of charging. Ralph Lauren Safari Chronometer Features Two New Dials

After launching the Safari Chronometer to rave reviews last year, Ralph Lauren is back with two more iterations of the dial. The watch, featuring a unique design with an alligator strap, is simple and classic. Ralph Lauren has unveiled the khaki as well as the camouflage dial, both iterations still classic but infusing some personality. The khaki dial is contrasted against a dark brown alligator strap encased in a gunmetal steel case, offering a simple aesthetic that is still unique. For something more adventurous, the camouflage dial does the trick with a beautiful face and perfectly matching moss green alligator strap.

Givenchy “Seventeen” Watch by Riccardo Tisci

With its massive success in recent years, French luxury brand Givenchy moves into new product categories. This week the brand presents its first watch, the “Seventeen,” designed by Riccardo Tisci. Referring to the designer’s lucky number, the bold and large size watch comes in several colorways, playing with metals and strong colors on the dials. Made of stainless steel, the watches feature a scratch-proof sapphire glass housing a Swiss-made quartz movement.

Look out for a release later this week at select retailers, including colette, priced at about $800 USD.

Tudor to Officially Return to U.S. Market VIDEO

Although many are familiar with Rolex, its subsidiary brand Tudor might fly under the radar for some as its models have been all but absent from the U.S. market for close to 10 years now. However, it was officially announced recently that Rolex has created a new subsidiary called Tudor Watch USA, LLC and promises to resume the availability of Tudor-branded timepieces in the U.S. as early as late summer this year.

While not exactly a bargain with a $3,250 USD price tag, the Ralph Lauren RL67 Safari Chronometer enters the mix as a combo of sport and heritage. A 45mm case made of a burnished gunmetal features an easy-to-read display with a bold red seconds hand. Further enhancing the watch’s position as a casual offering, an olive green canvas strap and gunmetal buckle solidify the notion. The watch’s internals include an Richemont-modified self-winding calibre which is also RL’s first chronometer-certified movement. Look for the watch in the coming months through select retailers.

Online menswear boutique Kent Wang has just unveiled its first timepiece, the handsomely minimal Bauhaus Watch. Drawing obvious inspiration from the Bauhaus school of design, the watch sports a clean, minimal design in an attractively proportioned 42mm case. Forgoing numerals on the dial, the watch instead uses long hash marks for the hours and short hash marks for the minutes with just a small date window at 3 o’clock to break things up. Keeping the watch ticking is a BWAF automatic movement with a 40 hour power reserve. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this watch is that all this can be had for just $350 USD. Starting with a resin band, this piece offers G-Shock’s signature Triple G Resistance, as well as a shock-resistant build, the ability to run on solar power, a thermometer, power saving features, a warning to change the battery, and much more.
