Versace Hotel Opens in Dubai
Italian fashion house Versace has opened a luxury hotel in the capitalist mecca of Dubai. The suitably titled Palazzo Versace comes equipped with 215 rooms, a 1000-square-meter mosaic marble floor in the lobby, and is being billed as “the most luxurious that the Middle East has ever seen.” Check out the gallery and head here to price up a stay.

Before we start talking about the way her collection grabbed so many women in parts of themselves they never imagined Versace could reach—even those who like a boyish pant suit and flats—we should refer you to her soundtrack. It was not just an added-on musical theme, but the massively inclusive, confidence-generating “Transition” by Violet and friends.
The Best Collections of Spring 2016
Spring 2016 is a wrap, and if there’s one thing that defined the season it’s change. It started on day one, when Riccardo Tisci brought Givenchy to New York for an ambitious and poignant September 11 show, inviting nearly 1,000 nonindustry guests. Expect to see more public-facing shows next season. And it continued until the very last day of Paris, when Kering announced that Vetements’s Demna Gvasalia would take over for Alexander Wang at Balenciaga, one of the most storied names in the business. A virtual unknown just a year ago, Gvasalia is all but guaranteed to shake up the Balenciaga status quo.

Versus Versace Fall 2015 RTW
It's been in beta for six years, a Donatella Versace ideas lab transiently helmed by both Christopher Kane and Jonathan Anderson, but Versus 2.0 is now in full release. For his first collection post-confirmation as creative director, Anthony Vaccarello showed why Versace decided to grant him permanent stewardship of the sub-brand that Gianni once gave to Donatella.

Margiela to Matisse: The Fall 20115 Collections Meet Art
Fashion month has come to a close, and to offer a recap on some of our favourite collections, Christos Mouchas (aka UbiCouture) has interspersed some key looks into some iconic paintings exclusively for AnOther. Through the work of Matisse, Hammershøi, Lichenstein and Manet combined with designers like Maison Margiela, Christopher Kane and Versace, it's a visual crash-course in both fashion and art.

Versus Versace Spring 2015 RTW
A black-and-white print evoked classic Versace rococo. So did the Grecian key motif that made an asymmetric trim on little black wrap dresses. There was some of Gianni's old black magic in a lattice of leather, knitted together with gold. The construction was scarcely as complex as in those olden days—and there was little of the gleefully campy excess that still occasionally infects Versace's main line.

Versus Versace Spring 2015 RTW
Donatella Versace has almost lost count of the number of Metallica concerts she's been to. She is fashion's original rock chick. But she also exudes the sense that rock was not just her way to rebel, but also her way to relax—away from the heady legacy of her brother Gianni. So Versus was her thing, and those New York shows in the late '90s, with bands like Republica and the God-like genius of Stuart Price's Les Rythmes Digitales playing live, are particularly happy memories for her. It was that tsunami of positivity that propelled the Versus revival show tonight.
