'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back' as a Modern Trailer

Within the fandom of Star Wars, anything to do with the classic trilogy is normally best left untouched. However, YouTube film editor Tom F took it upon himself to reimagine the trailer for The Empire Strikes Back for our modern sensibilities, and the result doesn’t look half bad. Strategically cutting clips from the film to the emotive soundtrack for The Force Awakens trailers, you would think that the 1980 film was being released a whole 36 years later and be none the wiser. You know it’s been an incredible year for movie fans when the wait for Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn’t really seem all that long. From Mad Max: Fury Road to The Martian, from Trainwreck to Dope, from Inside Out to Creed, there’s been at least one great movie for every type of movie fan out there.

In order to celebrate the year in movies, JoBlo’s Nick Bosworth has put together a mashup trailer that includes clips of dozens of films from 2015. It’s quite a sight to behold.

New "The Bling Ring" Movie Trailer VIDEO

Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring has released a new trailer in which Emma Watson and friends rip off Paris Hilton and a host of her fellow Hollywood starlets.

The film follows a group of fame-obsessed teenagers desperate to have their share of the glamorous LA lifestyle by fair means or foul. Practically speaking, that translates into breaking and entering into the houses of Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson et al, and stealing their luxury gear.

The film looks like an intoxicating blend of teenage kicks and social commentary, but it's Watson’s performance that really catches the eye, all valley-girl drawl and sneering superiority. Just about as far-removed from Hermione as you could hope for, really. Directed by Coppola and co-starring Katie Chang, Israel Broussard and Leslie Mann, The Bling Ring opens in the UK on 5 July 2013.
