Nike WMNS Blazer Mid Diamondback "Bright Crimson"

We first saw the Blazer Mid get the diamondback treatment with Swoosh’s “Triple White” colorway, but Nike has now unveiled a “Bright Crimson” variation of the women’s offering. Rendered in an allover tonal red palette, the plated body is constructed with a molded three-dimensional polyurethane upper that is meant to recall the design seen on the scales of a diamondback rattlesnake. Sporting an equally textured midsole, the overall sneaker is an eye-catching addition to any collection. Although details are still sparse regarding an exact release date, the “Bright Crimson” Diamondback is set to drop at select Nike Sportswear retailers after the new year and will retail at $190 USD.

Nike Made a Toronto-Themed Sneaker Called The 6

As if our egos weren’t swollen enough already, Nike has just released a cool new edition of its classic Air Max 1 that pays tribute to Toronto. Dubbed The 6, the minimalist sneaker was designed by a Canadian, and includes all sorts of practical new features northerners will appreciate, like rubberized outsoles and military-grade leathers to protect against harsh elements. Why do we deserve such a high honour from the sneaker gods? In Nike’s own words: “Recently, the city of Toronto has earned pop-culture accolades, thanks to a cultural renaissance that spans sport, music and entertainment.” The shoe will be available December 6 at Nike.com and select Toronto boutiques including Lost and Found, Community 54, Nomad and Capsule Footwear.

Nike LeBron XII EXT "Finish Your Breakfast"

While the latest colorway of Nike’s LeBron XII EXT might be radical, its not necessarily new. Making another reference to his affinity for cereal – Fruity Pebbles, to be specific – the Swoosh rolls out a colorful iteration of LeBron’s current signature silhouette with the “Finish Your Breakfast” drop. While it is indeed rare to see such a varied colorway look wearable, the tasteful combination of a milky white base and the color spectrum looks distinctive here. Nike Highlights the Evolution of Visible Air

Following its’ first appearance on the Nike Tailwind in 1978, runners and athletes from around the world were familiar with the benefits of Nike Air’s cushioning technology at least 10 years before its’ reintroduction on the Nike Air Max 1 in 1987.

Although most may credit famed Nike designer Tinker Hatfield for the success of this project, it was only when Nike’s Director of Cushioning Innovation, David Forland joined the team in 1985 that its’ advantages and potentially ground-breaking benefits became clear. The initial idea of making invisible air visible could be have been considered laughable, but the duo’s unique vision helped transport the advantages of Nike Air Technology from a feeling into a benefit that was visually supported — each consumer could now see, by way of transparent panels across the sole of each shoe, exactly how such advancements in footwear design would support their physical requirements.

We have always been fully aware of what Air Max is, but how aware have we been to the trials and tribulations endured to achieve such success. Click here to read the compelling story of how David Forland and Tinker Hatfield increased “the sensory perception of walking on air” in The Evolution Of Visible Air.
