Belstaff Spring 2014 - "Ride On: David Beckham" VIDEO
The Spring/Summer 2014 campaign is unveiled with a short film featuring David Beckham zipping through fields on a motorcycle. The serene beauty of the English Countryside is offset by the grit, noise & exuberance of friends with a shared thirst for adventure.
T Magazine - Steve McQueen
The name recalls another anti-hero, but as the new T Men’s Fashion Spring 2009 issue reveals, the sartorially bold artist/filmmaker Steve McQueen is the real deal. McQueen’s eye-popping get-up — red suede shoes, an off-the-shoulder kaffiyeh and an ankle-length Yohji Yamamoto skirt — mirrors his work’s envelope-smashing aesthetic. We’re guessing he didn’t wear a motorcycle jacket to shoot his award-winning film about an I.R.A. prisoner’s hunger strike, but you still might mistake him for the new King of Cool.

The Genesis of the Motorcycle Jacket
American ingenuity is responsible for some of the world’s greatest creations. For instance, the cheeseburger is arguably the best all-around food ever, LSD is the epitome of drugs, and the internet is borderline godlike in its scope. The same goes for a garment that has been adopted by crusty gutter punks, beer-gutted bikers, and yuppies alike: the infallible leather motorcycle jacket. This timeless icon of utilitarian fashion came from the mind of Irving Schott, cofounder of a company now known as Schott NYC, who made history with his iconic asymmetrical jacket design, commonly called the Perfecto.
