The word “heritage” is used fast and loose these days; even we can admit we’ve been guilty of its misappropriation. Nevertheless, we think it’s fitting for describing Italian leather goods manufacturer Bertoni Valigeria. The eponymous label started in 1949, when Riccardo Bertoni and his partners began designing wardrobe suitcases, along with the classic trunks that are coming back en vogue as household decor.

There’s something about leather. Perhaps it’s its versatility, timelessness, or the way it gains character after years of use and abuse. Whatever it is, leather has always been linked to adventure and the outdoors.This summer, photographer and wanderer Liam Goslett hits the road with Lotuff’s vegetable-tanned trunk duffle, looking for new thrills, and of course, the odd photography subject. His expansive journey took him along backroads and fields in France and Spain; through beaches, deserts and the famed spice markets of Morocco, and beyond. From candid, humorous snaps of goats relaxing among tree foliage, to boat rides, bike rides and hikes across pastures and city streets, Liam’s duffle and camera were right by his side. You know those good looking specs Patrick Bateman wore in American Psycho? Those gloriously late 80′s frames? The line in the movie goes something like this… Patrick Bateman: “Paul Allen has mistaken me for this dickhead Marcus Halberstram. It seems logical because Marcus also works at P&P and in fact does the same exact thing I do and he also has a penchant for Valentino suits and Oliver Peoples glasses. Saddled amongst the exorbitantly-priced watches at this year’s SIHH was the Ralph Lauren RL67 Safari Chronometer. While not exactly a bargain with a $3,250 USD price tag, the Ralph Lauren RL67 Safari Chronometer enters the mix as a combo of sport and heritage. A 45mm case made of a burnished gunmetal features an easy-to-read display with a bold red seconds hand. Further enhancing the watch’s position as a casual offering, an olive green canvas strap and gunmetal buckle solidify the notion. The watch’s internals include an Richemont-modified self-winding calibre which is also RL’s first chronometer-certified movement. Look for the watch in the coming months through select retailers.
